Kala Sangam promotes arts, culture and heritage of south Asia to people of all ages and abilities and from all backgrounds. We use dance, music, visual arts, crafts and literature of south Asia in collaborative and innovative manner to deliver work in communities, box office tours, life long learning, arts in health and youth arts work in Yorkshire and the north of England, we are in the process of establishing a national centre of excellence in Bradford

History

Established in 1996.

Founded by Dr Shripati Upadhyaya with the aim of using arts to bring peope together hence the name Kala (art) and Sangam (confluence). The founding priniciple is that arts is for everyone who should be able to enjoy, participate and celebrate in the rich art forms
