Description

Specialties

The Colour Museum, opened in 1978 by Magnus Pike as the only museum dedicated to colour in the world. In 2007 the Colour Museum was re-launched as the Colour Experience to enable a shift in emphasis towards meeting the educational needs of learners of all ages. Unfortunately this meant that we were no longer able to accept drop in visitors from the general public. The remaining museum exhibits and interactives are now used to support education visits in the Colour Experience gallery. The academic year is focused on catering for the needs of these pre-booked groups of learners.

This means that the school holidays are an ideal time for family and leisure groups to visit the Colour Experience gallery. While no longer a public museum, we still have an interactive gallery with fascinating exhibits and displays relating to the wonderful world of colour. Booking is essential as we are not open on a drop in basis. All visits must be pre booked.
