With dark wood walls and beautiful antique lights hanging from every ceiling space reTouch lighting should be the kind of shop one could spend hours in. Light shops, however make me nervous; as a extremely clumsy person who has broken many a lamp in her 28 years I spent the time I was in the shop hesitantly skirting the walls and making any enquiries at a safe distance from the gorgeous hand made and antique light fittings.
Despite my frantic demeanor the owner Farouk was still eager to help me and provided me with detailed, helpful and historically unique insights into any piece I was interested in. A full half hour inside is testament to just how interesting the shop really is. That’s the longest I“ve ever spent inside a light shop, and I didn’t break a thing.
