Maybe it’s not fair to comment on this particular store because my poor experience comes from making an order with their online counterpart
. The experience was horrendous.
I did an order at the end of November for curtains, no one ever confirmed shipping details, I called many many times (most times in an endless loop and never reaching any live person), left many messages, sent many emails in vain. Finally, a month later, I cancelled the order but the curtains arrived anyway.
After a trip to the Linens Direct store in Brighton, James the supervisor on-​site helped me with great service, helped me call the online store, got someone on the phone to help, and documented it all on paper before we left the store.
Bravo, James!

Whatever you do, AVOID
at all cost. I placed an order on November 29^th, could never reach anyone by phone nor email, had no information on the shipping, finally reached someone and they never followed through. After reaching someone live on the phone, she confirmed my order would be cancelled and they would issue the refund. Days later, my order arrived. INFURIATING. Poor service. They never return calls, they are INCOMPETENT.

Every time I walk past Linens Direct I think of the Ikea advertising campaign Chuck Out Your Chintz!
I’m sure if you look hard enough you could find something worth buying but the over-​all aesthetic of the discount linen store is so old fashioned and chintzy I’m sure it puts most people off venturing inside. The window displays are pure 1970s and the shop layout isn’t much better. As for the actual stock, we’re talking lace tablecloths, net curtains, checked, striped and flowery duvet covers, cotton and jersey coloured sheets and pastel coloured towels.
Being honest, I can imagine my seventy and eighty year old neighbours happily shopping here. Personally though, I’m unlikely to go back unless I start a B&B and need spare /​emergency bedding!

Linens Direct was one of my first shopping destinations after moving to Brighton. I was reluctant to buy the University bedroom set, which seemed a bit too pricey for its meagre contents. Luckily, I saw Linen Direct from a bus top window — Yay! Complete bed-​in-​a-​bag for £45! Take that, University.
Today I bought more pillowcases (2 for £3) as I’ve since acquired more pillows. Ah, nesting. Bedding is sold separately as well as in compact bargain bags, including loose and fitted sheets and douvet covers. Small fleece blankets are on for between £5 — £6 at the moment.
Kitchen items include dishtowels and clothes, placemats, table runners and seat cushions. Pretty much everything has been marked down from its already discounted price. There’s also a few bathroom items, some decorative cushions and throws, and window curtains for any room in the flat. The biggest discounts are on Xmas items — all ornaments and Xmas themed linens are super cheap. Plus, random items like sewing kits are at Poundland prices. It’s a good time to check this shop out.

Not a very prepossessing exterior, and the inside can look a little chaotic, but there’s quite a lot of stock, comprising bed linen, towels, curtains and net curtains.
There’s a wide enough range for most tastes and budgets, although if you want really top-​end stuff it’s probably not the place for you. But it represents very good value for money in my book.
But I’ve been very happy with my purchases there (mostly curtains and net curtains). The best thing about it is the staff — always helpful, very friendly and knowledgeable.

If you ask me, having a permanent sign that says «Clearance Sale/​Store» hanging outside isn’t exactly a convincing message of assured quality. Linens Direct is one of those typically shambolic discount stores that focuses more on shifting products at low, low, low, low, low, low … oh, sorry I got carried away there … prices than flashy signs or displays.
What Linens Direct does have is an abundance of cheap (in price, not necessarily quality) bedspreads, curtains, voile panels and towels. I wouldn’t say their designs are the most cutting edge, or the best quality, but they are definitely useful for spare rooms, or guest linens etc.
It ain’t great, but it’ll do!

Linen’s direct is a large store on Western Road offering, as you’d probably expect, a large assortment of various linens. You’ll find throws, cushions, pillows, duvets, dischcloffs, oven gloves, and other such similar products. There’s a very good, and large selection of all the aforementioned, and the prices don’t seem to be particularly expensive. To make things even cheaper, there is also currently a sale on at this particularly branch.
