I don’t care what anyone says. This place is the best deal in town. I’ve just had an awesome curry with a Guinness for £6.15! The food was great and excellent value too. Now I’m drinking ale at £1.99 a pint. I challenge anyone to find a cheaper pint of ale in this town. This is less than half the price of many other pubs I know. I’ll most definitely be coming back again and again and again!

Came here for drinks with two other friends on a Wednesday evening after work. You order right at the bar, pay and then take your drink to the table.(don’t forget to bring your ID). I didn’t try the food but what I could see from the tables around us, it seemed to be fine to me. Restrooms were clean and tidy. Pleasant experience, will def go there again.

It was a fairly average Wetherspoons, the chips were nicely cooked. One of the days we decided to go for breakfast and it was quite full. The upstairs doesn’t seem to open until later, so we had a terrible table in the middle of drunk smelly men and atable with flies round it. The butter was rock solid and a member of staff offered to get more and try to melt it a bit, she even brought out fresh toast. I thought this was very kind, as I hadn’t even kicked up a fuss. One thing that was irritating was it had taken a long time to order as we had members vouchers. The staff had to find the manager to confirm they were real, but the manager had not seen them before!

Wetherspoons is perfect for grub and drinks — either pre-drinks or a full night out. The bathrooms here are ridiculously cool and resulted in many loo breaks turning into extensive photoshoots with my girls. Oh, the days of being a fresher. :)

I popped in here recently, desparate for the loo (main ones are upstairs, btw! a disabled one is on ground level, by the bar.) This one seems to be set up for more of a dining experience, and is about ½ the size of the george street one, in hove actually. carpets looked nice and new, though the toilets(as ever, for JDW?) really need more regular attention– v oddl layout too, with hand dryers etc. will do a fuller review on next visit.

My local Wetherspoons in north London can generally be relied upon to have a good range of cask ales available and to serve them well. This branch, however, had the most measly selection I’ve ever seen in a Wetherspoons. And neither of them were anything worth talking about either. The service came with a smile but also with me being overcharged. It took two attempts to get the manager to sort it out. Finally, he did so, with apologies, as one would hope and expect. He stepped up, admitted to there having been a mistake and put it right. The staff could definitely do with more training though. Or perhaps a bit more intelligence. The drinks were also more expensive than in my local Wetherspoons too. So I think that next time I am in Brighton I’ll be sticking to one of the many other pubs instead — many of which have more and better ales than the Wetherspoons and do a better job of serving them(the Evening Star, in particular, being an example of a pub with better beer, that is better served, that is not much more expensive and a has better atmosphere). NB. I have to admit that the only reason we went in this Wetherspoons pub was because we both needed to use the lavatory pretty urgently…

The good thing with most Wetherspoons is you know what you’re going to get, this pub is no different. The pub did its job; it gave us a full english breakfast on a low budget! Perfect for the morning after the night before, you can usually always get a seat and there is a TV to keep you up-to-date with all the latest sports news. Brilliantly average!

Like most Wetherspoons, this place is huge and noisy. Their no music policy means that, even when not particularly busy, the wall of chatter hits you as soon as you walk in to this echoey space. With two floors, .you’ll generally find a table fairly easily(in the day at least, I’ve never braved the place at night), and the food and drinks are great value. Definitely a good place for a pitstop or perhaps a feed up if you’re heading to the Brighton Centre or Odeon down the road.

Wetherspoons. What can one say really? Yes drinks are good value. Yes food is cheap. Yes you should avoid at the weekend like the plague. But yes, it is also probably the only pub in Brighton(save some similar place like neighbouring Yates’s) where you can drink on a budget, and one of the few places you’ll likely to find a big table if you have a big group of friends looking for a drink at the weekend during the day. I have drank here all too often due to variants on the above reasons, and I will return as I like being able to buy a double for under £3, or bottled cider for under £3… But this Wetherspoons doesn’t particularly stand out(although the girl’s loos are nice, with a separate well lit section with mirrors and stools, always very popular at the weekend…) — if you’re new to Brighton don’t let the lure of this place distract you from the many gems nearby, but everything in moderation I guess.

Offering both award-winning service and affordable food and drink, there is certainly much to recommend about this particular branch of the Wetherspoon’s family. Its menus display a relatively wide and surprisingly appealing array of items, very reasonably priced and produced to an acceptable standard of quality, whilst behind the bar you’ll find a good selection of beers, spirits and wines. With everything from Polish vodkas to local ales — Wetherspoons is the leading supporter of microbreweries in the UK — there’s sufficient available to satisfy the whims of most connoisseurs, whilst those who like their drinks to glow in a more colourful manner, won’t be too disappointed by the shades of cocktails on offer, although some may struggle to cope with the embarrassment of actually ordering one of the more effiminately named items — the Woo Woo in particular comes to mind-. On the negative side, Wetherspoon’s is a chain, and certainly feels like one, lacking any real sense of charm or individuality. The lack of music leaves the quality of the ambience almost entirely dependent on the nature of your company, the establishment’s eery silence only serving to amplify any breaks in conversation or awkward pauses. This potential discomfort is only compounded by the pub’s two large televisions sets, perpetually tuned to subtitled versions of Sky News, which happily inform you of the same, increasingly more tedious news stories, over and over again. These problems however, are not too damning, and Wetherspoons is still well worth a visit, particularly if you want to have a good time without spending too much money. Just make sure to have a good icebreaker if attending with strangers!

As long as you don’t expect much Wetherspoon’s won’t disapoint. By far the best feature is the cheap fare and drinks. This kept me coming back as I was always scrapping by when I lived in the UK. Every drink is under 3 quid(except for doubles of course) and most hover closer to 2 quid. I recommend the beer and burger deal. For about 5 quid you get a burger, fries and a pint. Again with the lowered expectations the burger can be easily stomached and may even hit the spot.
