OK, the only reason I can see for patronizing this place is if you are roaring drunk and there is absolutely no alternative. You can sure wait in there a long time as well, Staring at the piles of crab-like, half warm chicken, looking to choose the best piece…
The food when it comes is of an unimaginably low quality. Everything swimming in Grease. But this place survives because most sales take place when nobody else is open. You are probably better off going home for a bowl of Cornflakes…

It’s the sign on the outside of this place that really makes me laugh every time I go past it on a Saturday afternoon. It features a chicken that looks as if it’s having the life choked out of it — honestly, go check it out to see what I mean. Other than that, I wouldn’t really bother with this place, especially with the far superior Miss Millies just down the road. But, at least they’re honest: «we butcher chickens by the lorry-load to provide you with a greasy drunken meal.» You can’t say fairer than that. If you’re up this end of town, laugh at the sign and move on as quickly as you can.

I popped in the other day for a little snack, 2 pieces of chicken for £2, bit expensive I thought, and coming in here in the harsh light of day showed me the true colours of the place.
Yes I know it’s just a fast food place for some quick fried chicken but it all felt a bit grimey, it seemed as if the people serving haden’t washed their tops in about a year and the chicken batter looked, well, just not quite right.
£2 isn’t much, but for the quick relatively poor quality chicken you get I think it’s just far to steep.

This is just a standard, run of the mill fast food place. It’s not as if Gloucester Road needs another one of these places so I haven’t really got many good things to say about it. If I have to, I will admit that their chips aren’t bad.
I personally don’t appreciate faded pictures of my food selotaped onto the window as I walk in. I know what a burger looks like and I don’t need to be reminded, thank you very much.
In my opinion you would HAVE to be off your trolley to eat here, so press onto the pizza place where you can pay the same amount for a fresh stone baked pizza and chips.

Another branch of the Bristol-wide Benny’s Chicken chain, this fast food outlet is as greasy as the rest. Often snaring passing students and those rolling out of pound a pint at the Rising Sun on a Monday, you can get quite a few good deals here but you can’t really guarantee to feel great about yourself after. If you’re on Gloucester road and you want a manky post drink takeaway, you’re probably better off trying the Grecian if it’s not too busy, or failing that, the Fish Bar.

Too cheap. Far too cheap, and you can really tell. the spicy coating doesn’t help hide this.
If you need fried chicken at 6am Sunday Morning, Benny’s is the only place in bristol open. If somewhere else is open, I’d recommend going there.

It’s not really ‘proper’ food, but if we’re comparing KFC, Miss Millies and Benny’s chicken, Benny’s comes out on top in my opinion.
It’s spicier than other fried chicken I’ve tasted, and since the outer bit is the best bit, this is my take away chicken of choice.
The shop seems relatively clean and the staff are friendly enough, pretty much what you want from a quick take away meal. Prices are reasonable too.
