Fresh Takeaway

Fresh Cantonese takeaway usually offers good value of food in Bristol, and l ordered a few times here before, until recently l ordered a poached chicken with rice to take away, it looks so not fresh! And it has a nasty smell as well. Seems like some leftover food eating by other people before, very disgusting!!! I will never use this takeaway restaurant again! Definitely not recommended, cause it, s extremely bad for your health!

Fresh is definitely a good place to get your Chinese food fix. It might be a small takeaway place but it packs a good punch. Personally, the fact that this place is frequented by many asians (especially students from the Uni of Bristol) is a good indicator of the standard of the food. The portions are always generous and so far, I’ve been hooked on the roast duck with plum sauce on fried rice — a must try! The guy running the store is friendly and his prices are student budget friendly.

If the lurid and brash Green exterior doesn’t lure you in then you’re unlikely to like the contents. The chow mein is tasty without tasting too fresh (ironically) and as everything is reasonably priced, but there is nothing particularly unique about Fresh other than the green graffiti that forms its logo. The chilli king prawns are the only thing on the menu worth shouting about but could still be criticised for being a bit too salty. That said, I am yet to have experienced a better ‘Oriental’ takeaway in my time at Bristol so give fresh a go if you’re a fan of Chinese food.

It is hard to miss fresh despite its size. The graffiti covered take away perplexed me for some time, I walked past it regularly and saw that it served food, but I could never work out what exactly that food was. Eventually my curiosity led me across the street to go and check the place out: Chinese!
The food is good, healthy and reasonably priced. It is a great buy if you are one of the students, and if your not but live in the area go check it out as it is as good a Chinese as I have found in Bristol. I am also a big fan of their commitment to generate attention!

A Chinese AND an English cuisine takeaway all in one! This isn’t your usual Chinese takeaway that feels the need to add a ‘chips and curry’ dish for the less adventurous types. Fresh serves high quality food, both Asian and English, and attention to detail is given for both cuisines respectively. The menu is exquisite and well-​presented, and the ‘Hong Kong style’ offers a different take on regular dishes. Unlike other takeaways, Fresh is open from 11.30am till 8pm. This is a unique idea but unfortunately means the place is closed when most people choose to order a Chinese to eat with their weekly dose of Skins, Peep Show or Mock the Week. However, it does mean that a picnic in the local park could be a bit different — a selection of Chinese bites at lunchtime doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me!
