Great for cocktails and great staff. The food is a bit hit and miss it can be very nice sometimes but mostly just ok, but to be fair I am there for the cocktail in the sun terrace.

My daughter and I had lunch here during a day spent in the @Bristol Science Centre. She’s ten, and was offered the children’s menu. That worked for her, though it will be too childish for her very soon. We shared a plate of nacho’s for a starter. These were disappointing; a small sprinkling of cheese over generic, lackluster corn chips. The amount of salsa, guacamole and sour cream was good. The guacamole and salsa were okay, though appeared to have been dished up out of catering packs(you know what I mean… salsa a bit sweet, guacamole a bit bitter). Unfortunately our main courses took a long while to appear… well over 25 minutes. For our main course, my daughter had the Mini Meaty Burgers and curly fries. Again, acceptable but not remarkable. Quality control in the kitchen was obviously suffering, as one of her burgers came without a top bun, and there was no ketchup dip. I had the Gringas Tinga(Chicken); again, nice but not noteworthy. Three starts as I found this experience reasonable, but not exceptional. I would probably visit again, mainly because I am resigned to only ‘average’ tex-mex/southwestern/Latino cuisine in the UK.

A disappointing experience. I normally frequent this place for my pseudo Mexican food fix when I am back in the UK and I have been on a number of occasions — my favourite being the«Big Burrito» which on this occasion was not appropriately named. It would appear that Las Iguanas has adopted the«Stealth Inflation» model in order to maintain their margins in this time of austerity. When I last visited in December the Nacho starter was a mountain of food, so much so that between my colleague and I we almost had a problem finishing it. On this occasion however the Nacho starter was tiny and I thought for a moment it was a portion for one person rather than the three sat around the table. When my «Big Burrito» arrived at the table I had to do a double take — rather than«bulging» with ingredients(as described on the menu) it looked like an under inflated balloon. I was disappointed and when I asked the waitress where the coleslaw was she made reference to the fact it was inside the burrito. If it was then I didn’t find it, it must have been hiding with the microscopic portion of rice that was in there somewhere. When I complained I was offered a free coffee instead when all I wanted the food described on the menu not a free coffee. The service was adequate and our server was perfectly pleasant. Unfortunately, in saving a few pennies per dish I will not be returning any time soon.

A bar restaurant chain with a good template that results in a well run establishment. It has a pretty extensive Latin American menu, which include a tapas section. It also has an extensive cocktail menu, of which some were two for one on this occasion. So we started on the Caipirinhas. A tasty offering that was soon emptied. We then went with the Cherry Fizz, which was fine. But I did prefer the Caipirinha myself. For the food we opted for the tapas and the 5 dishes for 23.00GBP. The portions were ample and was more than the two of us could handle to be honest. We shamefully left some food behind. Highlights were the Gambas. Overall the food was OK, but I definitely have had much better Latin American food and/or tapas. But there was lots of food for the price, so good value for money I guess. Service was quick and the floor staff friendly.

I have been to Las Iguanas twice this year, in Bath. So I seem to know the Menu quite well. It was very busy last night on our visit, but I had booked a table, and was quite pleased one where we were sat. Our Waiter was very good, and fast service. The food — Excellent! Could not fault it. And I thought the prices were quite reasanable too. Overall — A very pleasant experience. The Picture of Rio on the wall was Fab — Stretching the whole length of the room. I actually thought I was there, at one time. It must have been the Cocktail that I had to drink on behalf of my wife, as it was a bit strong. LOL — But goood.

Well, this wouldn’t usually be my choice of a place for an evening out, purely because of the mass binge-drinking culture that pervades this area these days(which is not my thing). However, I came here with my sister recently and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was intelligent and friendly and we found a comfy nook to sit and watch the world go by. There are more hen and stag dos here than you can shake a stick at and it’s all in good fun. We enjoyed looking at all the various themes, our favourites being the group of women dressed as Virgin airhostesses…‘Virgin Oh how we laughed! ;)

If nothing else this has to be Bristol’s biggest restaurant. It’s quite an intense environment at the weekends, unless you are a member of one of the many hen parties shrieking in the back section. I mean it is perfect for large parties, of maybe twenty people or more but I don’t tend to have that many friends. It also has a huge outside seating area that stays in the sun all day. The staff are usually great fun(ask for Momo to do his ‘special’ dance) and if you manage to eat here when some of their great deals are on it will be a bargain and worthwhile. I mean £25 for two meals and wine in the evening! but this deal does finish early. The cocktails are very good and well made, obviously they could be stronger, but this is the UK not Cuba. Shame. The menu is pretty hit and miss, let’s just say some of it will have said hello to the inside of a microwave at some point, however some of the meatier dishes are really good quality. They do fajitas very well, you should try the duck or steak and don’t be afraid to ask for more sauce! Most of the staff will help you out without charging you! Just don’t let their boss catch them(ah how fun it must be to work in a chain restaurant). If you have a family with screaming… sorry young kids… this is the place for you at the weekends. They will look after you, and you’re right next to the tourist hotspots of Bristol. Just don’t let your kids swim in the fountains outside! Pleease!!! I have seen what people do in those at night!

I’d never really tried Latin food before eating here and am fully converted. Although part of a chain of restaurants Las Iguanas actually started out life in St Nicks market. As a newcomer I was guided through the menu of Brazilian and Latin dishes, full of meat, fish and veggie options. After a starter of tapas to share I had an amazing butternut squash enchilada on a bed of rice and black beans. It might not sound like anything special but I’ve spent the last few weeks trying, and failing, to recreate this dish in my own home! The atmosphere is a little lighter and brighter than it’s sister restaurant on Whiteladies Road but still retains a fun and fiery décor, full of rich colours and dark wood. The service was good but it wasn’t particularly busy when I ate here — over the weekends it can get pretty packed.

No trip to the Harbour front would be complete without a lunch/dinner by the water. Although not quite opposite the water, Las Iguanas has prime, enviable position in Anchor Square. Always busy and bursting with fun-loving staff, this is a fantastic place to go for lunch or an early dinner because prices are cheaper before 6.30pm. Their 2−4−1 cocktails are brilliant — all with a Spanish theme and always go down extremely well. The fajitas and enchiladas at Las Iguanas are tasty, and the music will have you dancing and feeling like you’re in the hot Mexican sun.

It was disgusting. The food was bland to the point of being inedible. Salad looked as though it was leftovers scraped off anothers plate. Table was dirty. Glasses were dirty. Staff werte extremely rude, and tried to charge us twice for drinks. Very unprofessionall, not trained. My meal was snatched from me whilst still eating. All in all we went there for a birthday meal but it was ruined. I will be contacting them tomorrow to complain, although I don’t expect much in reply, so maybe solicitors is the only answer. I can only recommend you do not eat here, you’d be better served in macdonalds. And to think this pleasure cost us £160 + and that’s without the champagne that turned out to be Cava for £5 a glass. The biggest rip-off I’ve ever come across, would NEVER step foot in there again.

Located at Explore Lane and Anchors Square, Iguana serves authentic Latin American food full of spice and flavour. They have recently picked up and award for best sauce & ingredient at the Quality Food Award for their Organic Yellow Chilli Sauce. The restaurant offers a heavily discounted price you order between lunch and 6:30 which is really worth the money as the food is really good. There is a very nice dark mahogany wood layout inside and long benches outside so would be lovely if there is nice weather or a group of you. The service is with a smile, however I can imagine that if you were accustomed to Latin food, then Las Iguanas may not be as good as you hoped. For me, it was lovely though!

The food is a pale imitation of anything mexican and it is mostly bland and accompanied by curly fries. The drinks aren’t too bad but I wouldn’t go for the food. I had fajitas once and apart from the fact that the portion was small it was also lacking in taste. I had to add tobasco to get any sort of spice. The décor is fabulous!

Las Iguanas is a fantastic chain, and this restaurant is no exception. The layout is larger and better than the one on Whiteladies road, so its able to cater for more customers. The selection of tequilas is great, and its right in the center of Bristol so theres quite a lot of other nightlife about for afterwards.

Very nice food, but some of the prices were over the top. The side of chips is £2.50 and you get precisely 5 chunky chips for this. The staff were nice and the restaurant is clean and well run.

A nice chain restaurant in a good location, situated by the harbourside and next to the x-plore centre with a view of the fountains and weird big silver ball thing. The staff are very nice and helpful and they were extremely welcoming towards small children, providing my son with crayons and giving him lots of attention. The food was really nice and spicy but not too hot. Portions were reasonable but the side of chips was a terrible rip off.

What an excellent place to eat. Even for little ones. We took our two young daughters here for a meal early evening when on holiday. The service was excellent and food very tasty. Fantastic location looking over the square. And entertaining especially when somebody on the bike slide into the fountain — it was raining so the pavement was like ice.

I would recommend this place to anyone. It has an exciting and vibrant atmosphere, and provides a style and taste which I have never experienced before. The decorations are funky, the music is great, and the staff are helpful and friendly. PLUS, if you’re a student, and you know your — you can grab an amazing 20% discount at this place. :D

Las Iguanas has a sexy, vibrant and cosmopolitan feel to its Harbourside restaurant where you can take a culinary journey across the entire Latin American continent. There are some fantastic lunchtime and early evening deals, tapas, salads and plenty of veggie options. I’m a sucker for the shredded duck enchilada but the Sweet Potato Moqueca comes a close second; a Brazilian style curry of coconut, plantain, peppers, tomatoes, and palm hearts. Ay carumba! The extensive Tapas selection is a great accompaniment to the equally extensive and exotic drinks menu. Smoothies and cocktails cha cha along with saucy tequilas and, for something different try a Brazilian Cipirinhas, a cocktail made from Cachacas, a distilled sugar cane based beverage. The deserts are out of this world and surely some of the sweetest I’ve ever tasted. In a great location overlooking the bustling Millenium Square, I’ve sat in their outside dining area in summer watching hot air balloons drift over from Ashton Court against a perfect sunset. Fantastico!
