NCP Broadmead Car Park

We parked here on Saturday 2 October. It took 25 minutes queuing to get out of the car park. Customers were annoyed that the reduced price signposted outside (£4.50) was only available if you’d used the app before you parked and were refusing to pay the full price at the exit. This was not helped by NCP staff having long conversations with unhappy customers, while everyone else waited. We paid £13 for the privilege of queuing to get out of the car park. NCP - please sort this out.

Out of principal I hate paying anything above £1.50 for car parking, so on the rare occasion that I have had no other option than using the NCP car park I have been very annoyed. I only ever park in the city centre when I need to take something home that is too large to carry, so to be charged the rediculous rates the NCP ask is so annoying.
It is almost as if they realise you have no other parking option so they can ask whatever price they see fit, which is not on.
If I was you I would park near down, for example the little strip behind Castle Park and save yourself about £5! especially if you know you are only going to be in the City centre for a couple of hours.

Ugh, I am not a fan! It’s dark and dingy and I constantly have the fear that I will either drive into someone reversing or that my car will get bashed into for lack of turning space. Plus the fact that the cost is ridiculous — see previous review for prices.
Best bet is to leave the car behind and use public transport if you can.

Here comes my grumpy old man rant…
I can’t belive the cost of parking, I swear it escalates at the same rate as petrol, I guess the thing is that big city centre parking lots feel that people don’t have a choice so they can charge rediculous rates.
If you want to park here for the whole day it’ll cost you £14! (or £9 for 6 hours). I went to Bridport in dorset the other day (granted not the biggest place, and not really comparable to bristol) and I parked in the town centre’s central car park and it cost me 40p for the whole day, now what is so special about this mamouth concrete hump that they can charge an extra £13.60!
If you do want to park in the city centre and either want security or a car near after you get lumbered with many bags of shopping then I guess it’s helpful… but still… £14!
