Lovely little, traditional Real Ale Pub, hidden in the back streets of Blackboy Hill.

The Port of Call has a wide selection of traditional Real Ales, Lagers, Ciders, Spirits, Soft Drinks and Fine Whiskies all at very reasonable prices.

Food is served daily from 12−3pm, (A varied lunch menu at great prices!) and 6−9pm (A typical pub menu with a contemporary feel.) Everything is home made and well presented.

Sunday Lunches are available and quiz nights are on Tuesdays. Open from Midday until 11pm daily.

History

Established in 1788.

First records of the business show that in 1788 it was named the ‘Upper Ship’. In 1851 the house became known as the ‘Down Porter House’.

Premises purchased by P. Vaughan and others in 1886, and were acquired by the Bristol Brewery Georges & Co., Limited in 1888.
