This is a great little pet store.
I have one cat but used to also have a bunny rabbit, they sell various supplies for those two and also fish, hamsters etc
It’s family run and everyone who works there is super friendly, always available for helpful suggestions if you arent quite sure on things.
prices are quite competitive with larger stores such as pets at home but this one smells like a pet store if that makes sense.
Soon as i walk in i get excited seeing what goodies i can take home for my kitty, knowing she’ll get bored of anything unless it’s food.
Never the less pets are like furry children and deserve spoiling sometimes :)

There are always bales of straw or hamster bedding at the front of this shop, sometimes attracting nosy pigeons to peck at it. This pet store is just such a friendly, traditional one, and sometimes it can be quite nice to walk in and have a look at some sleeping hamsters twitching away while they dream. They have a big selection of supplies, including food, toys, bedding and pretty much anything else your pet might need.
I would say that they have a big of a larger selection for dogs than cats, but then again the cat area has a good choice as it is anyway. They also sell hamsters, mice and fish and all the accessories to go with it. It’s really nice to see a pet store that’s family run by people that care about animals and not some big generic pet stores.

Shops like this used to be ten a penny when I was a kid but sadly with the rise of the out of town shopping centre and chains like Pets at Home, they are slowly dying a death. Not so Roxfords though and this is a testament to the beauty of Gloucester Road and the inhabitants of Bishopston. Yes they don’t do as many deals on cat food and litter as the big supermarkets and chains but they do stock a wide range of food, bedding, treatments and toys at competitive prices. And there are cute little bunnies and rodents to gawk at as well as a good range of items for tropical and freshwater fish tanks.

Roxfords is just around the corner from where I live so is perfect to stock up on all my hamster needs. The do sell small animals in here which are always fun to look at and while away the time but I come here mostly for the huge bags of sawdust and hay.
Although loosely packed compared to the kind you would get in a supermarket or ‘pet superstore’ the bedding on offer is cheaply priced and the staff are always really nice and not at all pushy. Roxfords sits between a coffee shop and a deli that sells amazing burgers and hotdogs on the weekends so there isn’t that usual pet smell you get when you visit other pet shops, which is an added bonus!

No, you can’t buy the cute Labrador. He is a permanent fixture at the pet store, and I’m sure the owners want to keep him! They do sell other creatures though — fish, hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils. I bought my two fish — Fluffy and Dexter– from here and they are still happy, healthy goldfish. They have new fish there now called Orandas, which look like mutated goldfish with weird bubbles coming out their head. The animals are all very well looked after, and prices are cheap. The pet shop has everything you need for your pet and is always busy — a sign of a good pet store

Definitely a place to visit for all your pet needs! It’s small, but perfectly adequate. We have got many things from here for out house hampster and have never been disappointed.
Staff are also very helpful and the gentlemen was more than willing to fetch us a large bag of sawdust without any complaints!

From the outside it is plain to see this is the only place in north Bristol to come for all your pet supplies. When I stepped inside there was that brilliant oh so familiar pet shop smell. You know, that kind of dog food chew mixed with dry hay smell. It makes you want to leave the shop with a big sack of bird seed even though you only have a goldfish!
A friendly shop and a variety of all shapes and sizes of pet foods.
