Stokes Croft Radio aims to give the people of Stokes Croft and surrounding areas a voice. We have local artists and activists on the show for interviews. We do street podcasts interviewing the general public gathering a local opinion. We also play a wide selection of music including Soul, Funk, Blues, Rock n Roll, Folk, Jazz, RnB, Hip Hop.

We will always support the local people of Bristol, providing a complete sanctuary for all and any that want to express their views for change and betterment.

Our shows are currently weekly from 7pm — 9pm on a Wednesday. The shows are hosted by Sam Dickinson and Peter Walker and consist of chat and music.

We are soon going to be broadcasting more regularly as more DJ’s are joining the team.

Stokes Croft is run and managed by Backstreet Box Theatre Company on a voluntary basis.

History

Established in 2013.

Backstreet Box Radio is where we started. Broadcasting from the Backstreet Box Theatre in St. Andrews. Our first broadcast was June 2013 and since then we have been constantly trying to improve our set-​up and outreach.

Backstreet Box Theatre Company has moved sites and is now based at The New Building working on creating a venue/​events space. Since the move our name has changed to Stokes Croft Radio in order to facilitate the local ethos and community. Check out Backstreet Box and what we’re working on:
