A real oddball pub this one. The old Shant was surely destined to be turned into flats before it’s massive makeover, yet the most popular part of the new Shant is the one remaining part of the pub that remains from before.
It’s very much a community pub, but the redesiged main bar area makes it welcome to all, and it certainly isn’t the kind of place you’re made to feel unwelcome.
The range of drinks is nothing out of the oridinary and no food is served, but the landlord makes everybody feel welcome and will often pull up chair and have a good gossip.
