It’s funny how much people are influenced by their parent’s decisions. For me, because my Mum was never allowed short hair as a child, I was destined to spend the rest of my childhood with locks so long I could sit on them. Fast forward a few years and I’d had enough of split ends and how quickly I was going through shampoo. I was going to get it all cut off. Well, maybe a few inches.
I went along to Toni and Guy with the thought that, sure it may be expensive, but for a haircut this dramatic I’d need a professional. I explained exactly what I wanted: shoulder length, side fringe, bit scruffy but ultimately nothing too edgy. The hairdresser nodded with such vigour I assumed we were on the same page. Wrong.
Two hours later and tears welled in my eyes as the stylist ignored exactly what I said, went about four inches shorter than we agreed and layered it beyond recognition. It took me a few months to outgrow the haircut and I had spent a bomb to live with something I hated. Do. Not. Go. Here!
