Wilkinson

Wilkinson sells small household items at moderate prices. Everything on sale here is available more cheaply elsewhere, especially from out of town supermarket retailers such as Asda. The good thing about Wilkinson though is it’s convenience. At lunchtimes this place gets packed with people on their breaks who have stopped by to stock up on essentials.
This branch isn’t much good for larger items though because of it’s location and proximity to a carpark.

Wilkinsons! I heard about this store literally a week after I moved to Bristol. Some friends were raving on about how cheap things were here albeit the poor quality of things. They seemed to be very dedicated to the Wilkinsons experience!
Only years later when I couldn’t find something I wanted for the right price in another store, did I remember my friends talking about Wilkinsons. So that fated day, I walked in — and I think I spent more than an hour in there, going ‘Ooooh! Aah!!’.
They sell. everything. From toiletries, pet supplies, office supplies, kitchen food supplies, bedding, garden bits, furniture, handyman bits, I think they’ve exhausted the list of goods people need and want to buy! As for the talk about the quality, it’s actually not that bad here; most of their own brand stuff don’t fall apart at a touch, and for example, their pillows and cushions actually look nice too.
A good one stop shop with guaranteed low prices. I think that’s good enough!

What’s not to like? Cheap toiletries, cheap household stuff, cheap crockery. It’s all brilliant. Unless, of course, you’re passionate about buying local and supporting the environment, because Wilko’s is about quantity, not really quality or eco-​friendliness. If it’s cheap and cheerful you need, Wilko’s is your best bet. Make sure you bring big bags or boxes or even a car — because once you get inside this shop, you’re likely to go a bit mad and end up buying almost everything.
I’d particularly recommend Wilko’s to students who need to stock up on stuff for student accommodation. This place never failed to provide exactly what I needed, whether that be a teapot, a washing up bowl, some laundry detergent, or a bag of chocolate buttons.

Where all cheap goods seem to go to die, Wilkinson is a veritable treasure trove of poorly made, ugly utensils… but all at ridiculously low prices.
Don’t come expecting to furnish your home with anything beautiful. Everything comes from a factory production line and has been made with as little love and care as possible.
That said, if you want to buy homeware for a temporary residence or are on a very strict budget, Wilkinson is without a doubt the best stop-​off in town.

Once I had gotten over the massive shock of Woolworths closing down I had to find another shop that could offer the same variety of household goods, food and drink, entertainment (and of course Pick & Mix selection!)
Wilkinsons is the logical replacement, in reality, although I hate to admit it, they are probabley better than Woolworths.
I come here for many household items, from picture frames to lightbulbs, and from tea-​towls to frying pans, they have a very good all around selection at very good prices.
The top floor is dedicated to entertainment, cards, pick and mix and childrens items. The downstairs is for household items.

I have always been a massive fan of Wilkinsons, then I have always been very thrifty and sensible with my money so the bargains to be had in this place sure do appeal to me. When Woolworths went bust, there was only one place you knew you could come to get cheap pick’n’mix and in some ways, Wilkinsons is plugging the gaping hole left by the collapse of Woolworths. It’s not just sweets. You can get beauty products, cleaning products, stationary, DIY kit, homeware and even foodstuffs. I recently got a bathroom storage unit for about £3. Bargain. It’s really difficult to categorise customers in Wilkinsons, all types of people go in there from students to chavs and pensioners to the suited and booted white collar workers. And in the credit crunch it should really be top of everyone’s list during their weekly shop. This branch generally has its DIY/​Homeware/​cleaning stuff in the basement and the rest of the stationary/​beauty/​food on the ground floor.

I’m not ashamed to say that I shop here a LOT! Whether it be for loo roll or a new shelving unit for my room, Wilkinson’s have it in this shop for an insanely good price. What I like about it too is that it doesn’t just sell its cheaper own brands if you feel like a bit of luxury. They sell all the usual ‘Fairy Liquids’ and ‘Flash’ products at a much cheaper price than a supermarket.
Very good location in the centre of Bristol and it’s a really large store which divided into two floors. The upper floor is for everyday household products and the lower is a larger section for kitchen, bathroom and bedroom goods. I have recently bought a lovely set of curtains for £7.99 which easily look like they are worth £30…bargin!
Usually long queues of upwards of 10minutes though.

A rather large shop, and best of all its excellently situated next to not only KFC but also next to the cinema, so you can watch a movie, pick up yoru essential shopping, and then grab some KFC.
