At first glance, it looks, smells and sounds like any other Pizza Express, but this has one thing allll the others don’t have: a riverside view. I mean, literally, riverside. If you’re lucky enough to get seated at a window seat, you’ll be overhanging the beautiful River Stour, the cleanest river in England with water so pure you can see the reeds waving in the current and the eels wiggling their way upstream. The food is okay and the reason it loses a star. I’d probably give it 3.5 if I could to be honest. Places like Pizza Pilgrim or B-Soho in London do much better pizzas for a lot cheaper, and even K Bar in Canterbury has pizzas that are soft, full of flavour and half the price of a Pizza Express pizza. If you’re going solely for the food experience, try one of the many other independent restaurants along the high street. If you’re coming for the atmosphere though, you can’t lose.

Booked a table to make sure there was space, when we arrived(to see they where only at half capacity) we where then completely ignored as we stood in the door way we were passed by several members of staff. No one even acknowledged us. Very disappointed, Moved on to ASK and even without a reservation we had fantastic service.

This is very much your typical Pizza Express, with very high quality food and good service that you would expect if you’ve ever been to one before. This particular Pizza Express is situated in a quiet side street just of Canterbury High St in a lovely old building. Very nice!

This restaurant is in a lovely listed building, fronting the river and if you have a window seat in the summer, you can watch tourists go punting by. The interior is fairly dark, with large and small tables. The menus offer lots of pizzas and some very good baked pasta dishes and choice is quite large for vegetarians. The chocolate fudge cake is always a hit.

Pizza Express is a favourite and this one is set back off a side street in Canterbury. Simple menu, someting for everyone, always good service and very good value. Lovely setting as some tables look out over the river.
