Clwb Tafod, which operates under NosDa(a budget accommodation provider), hosts a number of different nights(such as dance tuition, that sort of thing) but I only attend one — FUEL. It’s on every saturday night from 9pm-3am(entry is £3 or £4) and plays metal, rock, classic rock, that sort of thing. Friendly staff, cheap drinks(Stella & ‘45’(bottles) are £1.50, Black Sambuca(shots) at £1.50 and Double Vodka/Jäger & Red Bull at £3.90) and fantastic music all equate to a great night at Fuel! One of the great things about Clwb Tafod is how close to the city centre it is. It takes us about ten minutes from the castle, and there’s a map on Fuels web site( ) which makes it even easier. At the end of the night(which is a late close, 3am), it’s very easy to wander into town and either attempt to walk home or get a taxi, or to get fast food from places like Burger King(which is open til 4am on a Saturday!). The only down side about Clwb Tafod/Fuel is that it is quite small as venues go, and there isn’t lots of room to dance/mosh/whatever takes your fancy.
