First time I tried TGI’s was last month, gorgeous food! Great service, waitress constantly on top of our refills, asked if our food was okay, all in all, I loved it! And I have been and will be going again!

The food is so slow here that it almost feels like part of the service! I once spent 2.5 hours here despite only having two courses. To add insult to injury, the 10+ minutes spent trying to catch the eye of a waiter made it impossible to complain about the long waits.

Had an absolutely incredible here time with my girlfriend. Delicious food and very friendly service. My only negative was that a fly landed on my side dish but to the restaurant’s credit they apologised and replaced it immediately. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend TGI’s to anyone who likes american dinning.

Although I’m not generally a fan of this kind of restaurant, you can quite easily have a very fun evening.

Pros — Good(ish) cocktails. Friendly staff trained to be attentive like American waiting staff. Cons — Overpriced. SMALL portions. Too loud. Too many kids parties. Worst quesadilla I’ve had in my whole life, it was full of onion and hardly any chicken. I never choose to go there, usually I go with a group of friends and don’t want to be a pain and say I don’t want to go there.

Located on the not so hotspot of Newport road, this isn’t the most glamorous of TGI’s you’ll find, especially as there is one opening up very soon at St. Davids 2. First off, your generally going to need a car to get here and is far enough away from town that if your a visitor, your not going to want to deviate that far away. It was quite busy the night we went and was put on an alleyway towards the kitchen, making us feel slightly out of the the loop with the other customers. Food wise I normally really like TGI’s food, but whether it was because I was feeling rough that day or not, I really wasn’t happy with the food that day. I went with a classic burger which is fairly big that comes with fries. However it felt a little on the cold side and wasn’t as good as I’ve had before. The service was ok and despite the poor waitress being rushed off her feet she did take time to refill our drinks a lot and kept a smile on the whole time. We weren’t in their for long tbh and fairly glad of it. I was just left with the unsatisfying feeling that I expected a little more than what I got.

TGI Fridays is everything you could possibly expect it to be loud, busy, and very American, but don’t I love it for it! The food is your typical, burgers, fries, potato skins etc… You could certainly have a heart attack if you ate here regularly. It’s a relatively big Fridays, but don’t be surprised if it’s already full when you arrive, as it’s very popular. The staff in particular are excellent, and really keep the atmosphere alive, and be sure to check out the barmen, who are famous for their tricks(they’ve even won competitions)! The only slightly off thing about this Fridays is its weird location, but they are opening in the more convenient St Davids 2 this summer.

Idenical to every other TGIs — but not unpleasant for it! Nice range of cocktails, well cooked food and good choice. Meal deals available which are better value — otherwise fractionally overpriced. Staff are young and friendly, and make a fuss of you when its your birthday — nice place to take the kids, but not a romantic choice by any means!

This is a fun American restaurant that always seems to be busy. The waiting staff are encouraged to be slightly excentric and over friendly — which is O.K. It is particularly good if you are in a large group — such as a birthday celebration. Balloons are brought to the table for the person celebrating their birthday and a cake and candle brought with the waiting staff forming a choir to sing Happy Birthday. Most of the time the whole experience is very enjoyable but occasionally it goes completely wrong. Having visited many, many times over the years we have had great times and dreadful times. But in their support when we have had a bad experience they have accepted their responsibility and appear to take it seriously. They have always tried to offer us compensation in some way. From free deserts to vouchers to come again and have a completely free meal.

The food here is generous and delicious but definitely not healthy but when you’ve got shrimp in JD sauce who cares abot health! The cocktails are pretty good but not really anything to do with the ‘official’ version of their names — ege an old fashioned generally comes as a short not filling a huge hurrican glass. But they’re still good. It is always heaving on a friday and saturday night so make sure you book if that’s when you’re going. Otherwise try and go on a weekday night. If its quiet you can sit at the bar and chat to the ever-friendly barstaff who can recommend some obscure but fab cocktails!

TGI Fridays is good for their cocktails. My favourite is the strawberry shortcake(Amaretto, Shortcake, Strawberries and Cream). They also do a fantastic Orea Cookie Milkshake(Ground Oreas and Icecream/cream). The food served here is good, however, it doesn’t tend to come cheap, but if you can get hold of some of their offers, then it is definitely worth a visit. I haven’t had any problems at this restaurant and the staff seem friendly. They have a few birthday parties, with helium balloons which can get a bit noisy, and they add a service charge for large parties, but the general atmosphere is fun and lively.

This was my favourite place to eat out when I was a student in Cardiff a few years ago. I ended up stopping here with my family on the way back from a wet camping trip in Wales recently, and a burger has never tasted so good! The portions are generous and the food is very tasty. The staff are friendly — and possibly slghtly insane — which makes the outing a fun experience. It’s one of the most child friendly restaurants I know — the kids’ menu is cheap and accomodating, with lots of healthy options, such as fruit salad for dessert and carrot sticks as an accompaniment. The staff are great with kids and most of them seem to know how to make balloon animals which is a nice touch.

TGI Fridays is a really awesome restaurant, and my family and I have been many times for a variety of occasions including Birthdays etc, and when it was my friends birthday last time they gave us a free pudding, and did their wonderful little dance! The staff always seem real friendly and genuine, and the food always seems really well prepared, quick and reasonably priced. The restaurants are also really nice, clean and have a great atmosphere, and queuing for food never. I always commend the wide variety of food on offer at these restraints, especially at the one in Bristol. Recommended to everyone!

Used to love TGI’s but the food really started going downhill. It’s basic food yet very pricey for what it is and it’s always crowded and it’s a nightmare trying to order. The oreo cokie milshake is awful to.
