Pros: Always friendly, always tasty, always great value.
Cons: Sometimes difficult to get the waitress’ attention to pay the bill or order dessert, either because it’s (understandably) busy, or because they are short staffed.
Overall a great location to visit, loves me a good Sunday lunch!

This place serves the best carvery meal I’ve ever tasted. They have a choice of meats, beef, pork, turkey, gammon and about 10 self service vegetable and potato dishes. I was able to help myself to baked courgettes, corn, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, creamed mash, roasties as well as 4 types of grave! I really wish this place was down the road from me as I’d make this my go to place for carvery.
They had ½ portions, adult sized portions and extra large portions. I didn’t manage to finish the normal full size so couldn’t imagine people trying to finish those enormous plates I saw a few people with.

Who said a roast dinner was only for Sundays and special occasions. The good folks at Toby’s certainly have no respect for such things as British tradition and if you want a roast on a rainy, boring Tuesday, they’ll do their darnedest to make that happen.
It’s cheap and cheerful so don’t expect top-quality fare that you would get at home but it does do the trick after a hangover I know that much. Can’t really beat that for just £5.25. They’ve got other dishes too but I think it was mainly pie based.
It’s perfect for a cheap, decent quick stop for some proper food. And these days, it works out cheaper than a Burger King meal! No comparison.

The classic roast dinner is held affectionately in the hearts of many, with this traditional meal eaten regularly across Britain. If Mum or Dad do fancy the lunch time or evening off cooking the Sunday roast, turning to the Toby Carvery is potentially a viable alternative. The Barons Court, situated rather unpleasantly next to dozens of traffic lights at a busy junction, this Carvery enjoys a particularly busy trade on weekends. Throughout the week, it is fairly quiet, with the onsite car park typically yielding several spaces. The building itself is attractive enough, so the busy roads it sits beside aren’t the end of the world.
Essentially, this is an excuse to eat as much as you can, with all the classic components of the infamous roast dinner available. With freshly cooked meat carved in front of your very eyes, customers are then able to help themselves to as many vegetables as they like. This can result in a plate bulging full of food. It’s nice enough, although not exceptional given that the food is sitting around for quite a bit of time. Not a bad option if you want a roast but cant be bothered to cook. Cheap prices too!

I adore roast dinners, absolutely love them. Now normally they are confined to a Sunday but hell, not at Toby Carvery, you can grab yourself a stomach stuffing roast dinner any day of the week, at any time. I personally don’t know what could be better.
You can get a selection of meats or the vegetarian option and then you absolutely load it with as many vegetables as you possibly can, it’s all part of the fun, the highest stack wins! They normally will have some cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and boiled potatoes, along with your green, orange and yellow veggies.
Whenever I go here, I get very excited, when I leave, I’m groaning and a moaning that I’ll never eat again — there just aint no pleasing me.
This particular Toby Carvery is in an odd position next to a busy traffic junction, blink and you’ll miss it, and you don’t want to do that! I sure am a fan.

Ah the Sunday Roast. The meal invented to take up a whole day because way back in the mists of time, before the internet, before TV, before football on a Sunday, as there was absolutely sod all to do on a Sunday. Peeling, stuffing, roasting, eating, washing up. Boom Sunday done. Now that we’ve got things to do on a Sunday, nobody can be bothered with all that malarkey, but we still want the grub.
Thank you Mr Harverster! Thank you Mr Toby Carvery! We come, we chomp, and we leave you with the dishes. And you don’t ask a lot, only about £6 and you’re more than generous in what you give us, in fact you even give us the ladle occasionally and allow us to bypass the brussel sprouts without a hint of admonishment.
Yes the Barons Court looks exactly the same as every other Toby Carvery but they’re cosy and warm and friendly and will do you a pint of Brains Bitter for around two quid. It may be a tad impersonal but if you’re with family and friends you make your own little atmosphere, especially if you opt for the sprouts, if you know what I mean.

‘And on the seven day God created The Roast’ And then some Clever man/woman found Toby Carvery and the rest was history.
For the measly sum of £5 you can get a lunch roast! I think that ends before 5pm and then is about £7, still for what you get it is an absolute bargain. if like me you are greedy you can have three types of meat, veg, ‘tatties and all the condiments you can shake a stick at.
The décor is very traditional and British, love warm red colours that are much needed in the dark colder months of the year.
as well as all your normal drinks they do have seasonal ales etc. I had one at Christmas that was called something like ‘Rudolf’s revenge’ and was a great spicy tasty drink.
