A rural business in the north of England crafting traditional and contemporary green oak framed buildings, using traditional skills to create beautiful and durable buildings of character. We operate locally and throughout the UK.

Projects range from assisted self-​build projects to complete domestic and commercial frames, as well as bespoke hand crafted carvings and sculptures, crafted from locally sourced high quality recycled timber.

History

Established in 2006.

We have operated from the rural hamlet of Churchtown, near the northern border of the English Lake District National park since being founded in 2006. Our larger, traditionally built green oak framed workshop was added in 2008 to allow us to work on larger projects under cover from the elements. In that time, we have undertaken numerous commissions for customers around the UK and further afield.

Meet the Business Owner

Keith G.

Business Owner

Keith has long been a creative thinker and a skilled carpenter. His varied interests have led him to produce a wide range of graphics and carved designs and read honours and postgraduate science degrees, where he studied the properties of wood in microscopic detail.

Returning to carpentry as a main occupation he set up Sessile Oak as an outlet for his passion and creativity.
