The cakes are good, as are the sandwiches, pies etc. at lunchtime. The ‘different’ types of bread are very same-y, same taste, different shapes. Their punctuation is execrable. If they can’t get apostrophes right, what else do they get wrong!

This bakery has been a staple of Heald Green and Wilmslow for as long as I can remember. They have some really nice bread rolls and interesting loaves, but I’m not a fan of their cakes. The cream cakes contained un-sweetened dairy cream — which is not what I was expecting from a patisserie style cake. Some of the cakes use a fake-dairy cream which tastes of nothing but coats your mouth with a greasy film. The vanilla slice had very little taste of vanilla, certainly imitation vanilla not the real thing, the custard bun was okay but the custard was too thick and lacked flavour. The chocolate also tasted very cheap, not much flavour and left an odd aftertaste in my mouth. The sausage butties and fresh sandwiches on offer are all pretty good, so are the warm pies and sausage rolls. I just wish the cakes were of a higher quality and they offered a wider range of breads like rye, sourdough and pain rustique.

Well… you can always spot a proper bakers shop. Usually by the NAMB sticker in the window, but if not by the selection of quality produce on show. This wonderful shop is set in a shopping precinct on a main road, but it has a car park! You can’t miss it since its logo is bright pink and black. As soon as me and my papa walked in we were super lovely greeted by big smiles from the staff. The selection of cakes is fab, but they specialise in celebration cakes including big extravaganzabonanza wedding cakes(visit the shop in Wilmslow for the best display). The cakes we so tempting I just asked the lady to put me a box together of her favourites and I couldn’t wait to get home and open it to see what I had been given. Turns out it was a florentine(my all time fav, and my oh my it was good!), a custard filled lemon bun(wow), a caramel shortcake and a chocolate muffin with chocolate frosting and marshmallows! All were super tasty and I feel really pleased with the lady’s choice. We didn’t buy any bread from here today but the owner kindly let us sample the hot cross buns which the bakery boasts are the best in the area. I don’t think she’s got a challenge on her hands(unless she crosses the ringroad) they were really really good and soft and fresh and amazing. A great real bakery, where FRESH goodies are available at great prices with great service!

This is a great little bakery in Heald Green village and is easy to find as it is on the main row of shops on the corner. There is parking in a large car park behind the bakers and to the left handside or on the street outside the bakery. All of the staff are lovely and down to earth. Everything is baked fresh in store from cakes, pies, pizza, quiche, sausage rolls, bread, rolls and you can also get sandwiches made to order while you wait. There is a large variety of food and everything is really good quality and delicious! The prices are reasonable too with a sausage sandwich on a large roll costing around £1.60 or chicken salad sandwich for £1.80. It is very popular and gets really busy every lunchtime. They also have another bakery in Wilmslow.
