Piccolo Italian Restaurant & Bar

Great to have an alternative to the 4 Indian restaurants in Gatley!
Piccolo has an interesting split level layout, with a mezzanine floor and cosy screened areas with sofas, where you can enjoy a more relaxed meal or drinks.
They have entertainment some nights and whilst that would normally put me off, they got the volume and style right and it worked for them.
The food is reasonably priced and well put together. We had calimari and ribs to start, followed by prawn risotto and Vesuvio pizza.
The service is attentive, although for me just a little lacking in finesse sometimes, just seems like some of the staff are a little inexperienced.
I’ve been here 3 times, and overall Piccolo for me is a high 3 out of 5 stars and it’s been improving each time I visit.

Enjoyed our first wedding anniversary here. Good food, good service, excellent prices (considering we had an expensive bottle of champagne I was surprised just how low the bill was!) and a good atmosphere.
Particularly enjoyed the linguini with king prawns and courgettes, my wife had the fresh salmon, king prawns and vodka cream sauce with bow pasta — a new experience for her, tasted fantastic to me!
Highly recommended for an informal and enjoyable night out.
