Central Perk

I opted for pancakes with strawberries and blueberries with a strawberry sauce. They were nice but nothing special to be honest.
Now, I had a gorgeous hot chocolate which I asked for a shot of banana flavour innit. The two staff working that day said no one has ever asked for that, I was so shocked but it is so fit! So I had a banana hot chocolate with whipped cream, it was epic!!!

We were looking for a coffee shop for coffee and a light breakfast. There were lots of soft plush couches and chairs-​modeled after the friends movie set. In that sense it was a comfortable ambiance. Episodes of friends play constantly which can get annoying. The only breakfast they had were waffles, pancakes, bagels, toast. The counter staff person was super friendly. Food was OK and they had real maple syrup. Coffee drinks were ok, nothing special. It seemed a little pricy — one order of pancakes and syrup, a waffle with fruit, a latte and a cappuccino was £17. It would be fine for an afternoon coffee but I’d go somewhere else for breakfast.

Nice place, a tad expensive for a friends overload (& I’m a fan!!) nice drinks & friendly staff but nothing any different to any other coffee shop ive been– it didn’t stand out but it was nice!
Worth a visit but not somewhere im rushing to go back too.

I was visiting some family in Chester from San Diego, California and us Californians love a good coffee shop. I was in Chester doing some shopping, I had just had lunch at Carluccios next door and felt like a good cup of hot tea.
This is a cute coffee shop and quite trendy, there was a lot of people in here on a coffee break in the middle of the work day, there were students doing homework and Mom’s catching up with one another.
A very nice gal named Melissa served me when I was in, she recommended their panini’s and fresh cookies and said how great their loose leaf tea was. I don’t typically think loose leaf tea is very strong but she made it great and even let me have soy milk in it, I was in Chester for a week and this was the first place I found a coffee shop to have soy milk.
I couldn’t resist to not have one of the cookies, she said they were fresh and very popular and boy was she right. Being from CA I thought it was neat they had tons of American chocolates, I would love to be able to find Cadbury and Galaxy chocolate at a coffee shop in the US!
I took my tea to go but you can sit in and when you do that you get a real mug which actually seems to be normal in the UK.

If you are a fan of Friends — and who isn’t? — you have to visit Central Perk. As well as this one in Chester, there are a couple in Liverpool. Its a bit surprising that the 1^st Central Perk’s in the UK are up north and not in London somewhere. Although would be good if there was one in Manchester!
Anyway, this Central Perk in Chester is like the others with the same type of sofa as on Friends in Central Perk with memorabilia on display and on walls and TVs showing constant Friends. (Kind of like E4 used to be!!! hehe). When I visited, it was pretty busy but we were lucky to get a seat.
As well as serving hot drinks — coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc — there is also a selection of cakes and sandwiches. They also sell American ‘candy’.
Worth a visit if your in Chester. Take a break in-​between shopping and have a drink and watch some Friends!

Great location, great staff and a great name.
Let your guilty friends geeky side out with a visit to central perk.
Ok not New York but you could be fooled once you walk in to the friends styled coffee shop, big couches nice coffee who could ask for anything more.
The only thing they are missing is Gunther and Rachel. You even get phoebe like smelly cat performances.
They serve some lovely coffee and many other hot drinks. Good selection of cakes and sandwiches. An amusing selection of American candy bars and other bits and pieces.
So go in order you coffee and snuggle up on a couch for an episode or 2 of friends on one of their widescreen tv’s and remember the 90’s in style.
