Asda Stores

Full of chav’s, can never park, you have to pay and dirty.
Pretty good for cheap electical items but apart from that struggles against Morrison and Tesco.

Always competetively priced to other nearby supermarkets.

the crewe asda is right smack bang in the centre of town which is great as you can park and do your weekly shop but then also have a mooch into town. the shop itself is pretty huge and has all their full ranges. they have also in the last couple of years taken over the property opposite their side entrance which used to be bon marche and turned it into a george asda store where they have the clothing range, opticians, photo desk and dvds and music centre.
there is a café on site too which has recently been completely refurbed and is really really cheap as far as cafes go in crewe and is really good value if you want to stop for a brew or breakfast after your shopping.
the staff in store are really great. i shop myself here early every weekend before it gets busy and you can get round the shop in no time, the shelves are all fully stacked, the bakery products are all still warm and really fresh and there are plenty of people on the tills waiting for customers so you can take your pick! i havent ever had a bad experience with any of the staff here — they are all really friendly and chatty and help you pack your bags and so on.
there are only 2 things that let this asda down which is why i felt i had to mark it down by 1 star, firstly it is if you go at peak time unfortunately the clientele isnt too hot! you get a lot of rude customers battling their way down the aisles barging your trolley off course (and this doesnt take much knowing supermarket trolleys!!!) and the shelves aren’t always full — you might have to ask a member of staff if you are looking for something in particular as they really cant keep stacking the shelves quick enough when it is so busy.
secondly it is the car parking. being in the centre of town ofcourse the carpark is rammed from 9am through till about 4pm most days but in particular on fridays and saturdays. and the carpark really isnt that big. also it isnt owned by asda themselves. it is a council owned carpark and they keep putting the prices up every few months. the carpark is on a slant so its a struggle to control your already difficult to control trolley — esp when its full and heavy! the amount of old people i have seen struggling over uneven paving stones and down the slippery slopes that arent gritted in the frosty weather. but i do know that asda will discount about 50p off your shopping if you take an old parking ticket in with you. (they try their best to compensate you for the councils rubbishness!)
overall though asda is brilliant. compared to all the others it is without doubt so much better value — for its own product range as well as the branded stuff. unless you are willing to pay 3 or 4 times as much to go to somewhere like waitrose asda is definately the best supermarket in the crewe district.

There are various Asda stores around where I live but this is the one I choose to shop at. Asda as a whole is cracking! Cheap prices for top brands or try their Smart price range for really low prices. This store is large and has plenty of choice. Their George clothes and homeware section is actually in a separate shop this has pros and cons the main con being that I can’t trick my boyfriend into going down the clothes isle it’s not there! It can get busy but compared to other local supermarkets I find it the most manageable at a busy time. Also all tills are manned, all the time when it is busy! This is fantastic! Only one downside, well two actually — the toilets and café are pretty disgusting.

Lovely large asda supermarket which is located in a great located right in the centre of the town. nice sized store with lots to offers and have alot of promotions and deals avaialble and these are all clearly labeled and set out nicely. The staff are always there to help you and are very kind. The store can get very busy at times though and it could be a little cleaner.
