Notorious? Not yet.

Aardvarks? Not really.

Records? Most definitely!

I’ve been passionate about music since I first heard my Mum’s crackly Glen Miller albums and I’ve always immersed myself in music. I’ve been lucky enough in recent years to work on Doncaster’s only locally owned radio station, Sine FM, and through Sine had the joy of working with and helping so much local talent.

But why open a record shop you ask? You didn’t? Well I’m gonna try and explain anyway.

I, like many of you, miss vinyl. It’s imperfect but as John Peel once said, ‘Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don’t have any surface noise. I said, «Listen, mate, life has surface noise’.

I miss that feeling of heading home with your new vinyl under your arm, of taking it from the sleeve, slowly lowering the needle and then sitting back and reading every single sleeve note.

And in Doncaster the availability of vinyl, old and new, is limited.

Years spent working with the local music scene and presenting on Sine FM were just 2 of the factors that made me want to open this shop. Somewhere for people to chill and listen to local bands. And somewhere for people to indulge their passion of browsing vinyl. There’s nothing quite like it.
