Food is reasonable. We like to go here because it has a good children’s play area at the rear.

The Kicking Cuddy is a nice pub located at the bottom of the village of Coxhoe in the area known as Park Hill, towards the village of Bowburn, in Durham. It’s a large pub and caters for everyone — from the local teenagers to families, and people who work in the area that want a quiet drink and lunch in a friendly pub. There isn’t really separate bar and lounge areas, as such, but there is a communal bar and lounge towards the front of the pub, with a dining area at the back. The dining area looks very different to the rest of the pub, with silverware on the tables, and tablecloths, and a plainer decoration. People tend to eat meals in the front lounge/bar section as well, though. There’s a pool table, a darts board and the pub hosts several themed nights per week, such as karaōke and quiz nights. It tends to be busier on these weeknights than on weekends, when the locals more usually head into Durham city or elsewhere.
