The Chaplaincy is one of the best places in the entire UoE campus. Quiet and relaxed upstairs with plenty of desks to use for studying when the library becomes over-crowded, two pianos to play if one feels the need to, plus the rooms can be rented out to the societies, rather than having to deal with all the EUSA mumbo jumbo. Large auditorium with plenty of squishy purple chairs and tables for studying with kitchen use to students who want to microwave a meal and eat it without having to pay the ridiculous EUSA prices. Coffee and tea by donation to raise money for a different charity every year(believe it’s a South African choir this year)

The chaplaincy centre is situated inside the busy Potterrow Student Union. I have been to the centre a number of times for political meetings and events during Freshers Week. On the ground floor there is a large space for students to drop in for a coffee and a chat, a really good area for groups to meet up. On top that, the centre has meeting rooms, a small library and other resources for students. The rooms upstairs are quite big and can fit in quite a lot of people. The auditorium is also where societies put up their stalls at re-freshers week. You don’t have to be religious either to use the facilities. The centre is always busy with students buzzing about and for good reasons, this chaplaincy centre is well worth a visit.
