At Loudons we aim to make it easier for people with food intolerances or allergens. We have a large range or products that are Gluten, Dairy, Nut, Egg and Sugar Free as well as catering for Vegans and Vegetarians.
All of our bread and cakes are baked downstairs in our Bakery and we serve great Tea and Coffee supplied by Pekoe Tea and Artisan Roast.
We are famous for our breakfasts and our eggs benedict in particular or you could try our warm spiced quinoa or granola with fruit compote and yoghurt.
Lunch consists of homemade sandwiches, salads, soups, pizzas and gluten free quiches.

Established in 2010.
Loudons is a family run café and bakery. Freshly made is our hallmark… everything is made daily including soups, salads, quiches, pizza, bread and cakes.
We serve great artisan coffee and loose leaf teas as well as one of the best breakfasts and all day Weekend brunches in town.
We feel that customers with food intolerances don’t have to put up with bland choices and pride ourselves in creating interesting and tasty cakes, bread, soups etc. that can be enjoyed by vegans, vegetarians and coeliacs alike.
Meet the Business Owner
Chris L.
Business Owner
Loudons Café & Bakery is completely family made and run.
Chris used to manage the prestigious Peter’s Yard, one of Edinburgh’s most exclusive and best known cafes. He prides himself on his customer relations offering personal service and recognising regular customers individual tastes and requirement.
Peter (Chris’s step dad) is an architect and is mainly responsible for the architectural design and project management of the business.
Paulene (Chris’s mum) has been involved with interior design and finishes selection for Loudons. She also has a passion for good quality, healthy and interesting food.
Nick (Chris’s Dad & Paulene’s former husband) is a former risk analyst for Moody’s investors in New York. He contributes his financial expertise to the company.
Douglas (Chris’s brother & Paulene & Peter’s son) gained 3 years experience in the automotive industry. He contributes experience and knowledge of lean management techniques in order to bring efficiencies to the business.
