Picked up a couple of tasty savoury scones and a small rye loaf(expect a few crumbs when you’re slicing these) here midweek and thoroughly enjoyed them. Nice cheery service first thing in the day too.

This was an in-out kind of a visit; one involving baked goods. The luscious baked treats in the window are oh-so-tempting and, having walked past many a time now, I just had to indulge. Soderberg is, essentially, Peter’s Yard’s sister bakery. — You’ll find your favourite Peter’s Yard baked treats in here, and — hooray! — you’ve more of a chance to catch them before they’re gone because this place specialises in baked goods. I went for a savoury scone and it was lovely; not too sweet, not too savoury and with a nice addition of fruit too which, all in all, made it a fine, fine scone. It’s not the kind of place to sit and unwind. — In fact, the bakery doesn’t even have seating available. You simply help yourself to your baked good of choice and head to the counter to pay. For me, this isn’t a problem. If I’m going to go all out with tea, cake and a good book, I’d head to Peter’s Yard instead. I forsee myself having difficulty walking past Soderberg in future, with those deviously, teasing bakes in the window.

Not usually in this area straight after work but was heading to an event down Belford Rd and needed something to keep my hunger at bay and stumbled across this great bakery. This place is an offshoot of Peter’s Yard and the wee sister of the bigger Soderberg over at Quartermile, been open since February and has a similar kind of selection as Manna House but with a Swedish leaning. It was almost closing time but no surly service from the lovely staff, even though I interrupted her sweeping up. Had my choice of a variety of sweet and savoury baked goods and could easily have bought pretty much one of everything. Will definitely be hitting it up next time I’m around the west end.

I love this gem of a swedish bakery. I used to adore the kanelbulle and kardemummabulle in Stockholm, so this place was a wonderful find. The rolls are exactly what you get in in Sweden, perfectly sized and not too sweet. The coffee was excellent too. I love this place.

Well, the funs of fine Swedish-made bread and bums already know Peter’s yard! And now they’re expanding in St. Queensferry with this small bakery-only place, with all the goodies we’re familiar with and we devour easily! As per their website, Whether you’re after a cardamom bun and a coffee, a loaf of levain to slice up at home, a plate of almond-filled mazarins to share with friends, or a mound of crayfish stacked up high on an open sandwich for lunch, A Soderberg bakery will have it ready for you! Apparently this is the 2nd bakery they open in Edinburgh, after the original Peter’s yard café and bakery in Quartermile and the second one in Stockbridge. Well done guys! Glad to see that good bread is getting more and more popular in the Auld Reekie! If you haven’t tried them yet, now you have more choices on where to start!!! :)
