Vue Ocean Terminal

I love going to the cinema. Edinburgh has it’s fair share of lovely independent cinemas — the Cameo, the Dominion, the Filmhouse. Some of the most memorable cinema going experiences have happened there.
Some films however benefit from the big screen and the big sound of a multiplex. And for most weekends going to Vue is realistically more convenient. It ended up being my choice for seeing the latest Star Wars on opening day. For a blockbuster like Star Wars, this felt like the right place, rather than than the somewhat more sophisticated feel of the Filmhouse.
There are the usual downfalls of these types of big chain cinemas, a good 30 minutes of adverts being one of them. Their food and drinks are ridiculously over priced and over sized.
I will confess to being partial to a little popcorn (probably out of habit), but they refuse to give me anything less than a bucket. Please — consider selling a *small* popcorn. Also, I really don’t need reminded that a large popcorn and large drink is only 50p more. I know. I don’t want one.
If you are going to go to Vue or a multiplex, this is a good choice.
Ocean Terminal has free and super easy parking. It’s quieter than Cineworld and I think feels a bit more relaxed as a result. There are a good selection of restaurants nearby (Pizza Express, Wagamamas, etc) so it’s good option for a weekend dinner and movie.

A good day out costs £6 for 2d seats and extra £2.50 for 3d. The kids deal is really good and large enough for them. seatings comfortable, and staff are really friendly and polite.

Good cinema, great location. Sometimes spoilt by the yappy yappersons who’ve been and had some drinks in the restaurants before hand.

This is the cinema that we mostly tend to frequent due to its on-​site free parking.
As MrTomJones said in his review, it is really expensive once you are there (although i suppose that is the case for all Vue cinemas?). However, the seats are pretty comfortable and you are pretty much guaranteed a good view regardless of where you sit.
So, whilst it isn’t the Cameo, it’s a pretty decent cinema.

Expensive!
You really shell out quite a lot of cash when you come to this cinema. It does, however, have the most movie screenings and also the VIP chairs are rather awesome and comfortable.
Although it lacks the character and warmth of the Cameo, in some way its gigantic corporate chain-​cinema authority makes you feel you have to pay that much, and like it.

This vue cinema is located in the omni centre. It offers the latest films to see for an affordable price. There are comfy seats and a good quality screen to watch your film. You can get food drinks and others to get before you go in to see your film.

I actually prefer the Omni Vue cinema because of the Gold Class seats but this one isn’t too bad really.
Location is great — loads of free parking and on several good bus routes. It’s also surrounded by shops and a few restaurants and cafes.
Pretty standard cinema prices and you get all the usual refreshments, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, pick and mix and icecreams. I think you can get a beer to drink in the cinema too.
The actual cinemas are a bit mixed but most are fine in terms of size and lay out.

This is not the cinema to go to for glamour or style but it is very easily accessed either by bus or if you are in a car, there is good car parking at Ocean Terminal. It is covered, so a good option for rainy wintery weather and they usually show all the main big releases. Not remarkable, but can be very convenient. And there are places to have a bite to eat before or after.

This is a great cinema, it has very comfy seats and generous leg room. Prices are quite high (although aren’t all cinemas these days) but the good thing about Vue is that when you go to the cinema you are given vouchers for £1.50 off your next visit (as long as it is within a 2 weeks period). You can pay extra for gold class tickets which means that you can use their bar and take alcohol into the movie.
Ocean Terminal (where Vue is situated) has free parking so no added cost there. Frequent buses. Great shopping and restaurants (if you can fit it in). A really nice atmosphere, always a pleasant night/​day out.

Love this cinema easy to access, often discount vouchers and fast access to your seats. All in all i think this is one of the best i have been to in Edinburgh. Buy your drinks from the small shop on the ground floor as it is the cheapest place to buy unless you want some of the expensive cinema sweets.

This cinema, now part of the Vue chain, shows the usual blockbusters in the usual multi screen set-​up. The thing that makes this one stand out is the free parking and bigger screens, the futuristic décor and the location within the Ocean Terminal shopping centre. You can leave the husband and kids in the cinema while you do your shopping or take them to the kids club first thing in the morning at weekends. There is also the Seniors club on a Wednesday morning, with a different film every week and free tea and biscuits to boot. All these features make Vue Ocean Terminal the better of the two Vues in town, with those little extras that make it stand out from the multi-​screen crowd.
There are at least 5 buses that take you from town to Ocean Terminal, including a night service if your film is out after midnight.
