Burlington’s Fish Restaraunt

this place is worth traveling to. they do a cod and chips and a drink lunch special for £7 that is fantastic. some of the best fish and chips for miles around. it’s making me hungry just writing this!

Fine fish n chips, especially haddock n chips. Drops a star because didn’t like the cod as much, and because it’s more expensive than local rivals. We went at 5pm, we were the only sit in customers, but lunch special was finished so 10.90 for fish n chips, extra if you want peas too. Chippers is two quid less plus peas for free. If burlington’s extend that £7 lunch special out till 5:30pm then I’ll give them a fifth star!

Day time food is terrible compared to the high standards of evening food! Why is that?

Burlingtons is a pretty fish and chip shop. Portions are big. The fish is definitely better than the chips.

I absolutely love Burlington’s. The takeaway is good, but it’s better if you can go in and eat. There’s a variety of different fish dishes (friend and grilled), sides and starters. Burlington’s is the first place I had Fish and Chips in the UK. (I’ve been told it’s better up north, but to date, I’m not sure I believe people, as what I’ve tried, really doesn’t compare!) Burlington’s also introduced me to Mushy Peas. I’m definitely a fan, and whenever I have out of the country visitors (who always seem to want to get Fish and Chips while they’re in the UK for some reason), I always take them to Burlington’s. It does help that it’s near our place, but it is one of the better fish places I’ve been to.
My partner and I can often get away with a starter and splitting a main because the portions are amazingly huge. The takeaway portions are smaller, but still quite good sized. I can’t recommend it enough!

Wonderful fish Restaurant. We stumbled on this after a morning of PYO at a nearby farm, now we make a 30mile round trip to have their amazing fish and chips. The portions are huge and the fish is so crispy yet not at all oily. Only wish I lived closer!

I often eat in here as part of my balanced diet, making sure that I have both fish and chips. This really is an excellent restaurant that is so much more than a traditional chippy. A vast array of fish dishes are on offer and the kitchen is right there in front of you, so you can see the chefs at work, as they pan fry, grill or steam your chosen dish.
The chips are incredible and they serve up massive portions. With it being a restaurant, I feel that I have to be dignified and eat them with a knife and fork. But I also highly recommend the take-​away service, at least then I can suck the residue of grease, salt and vinegar off my fingers when I’ve finished. Not a particularly pleasant image but when food’s this good I don’t care.
