History

Established in 2003.

We all know how farming has been going in recent years, and with five to feed at home Martin Bazeley decided something else had to be done. After farming the fields at Offwell Farm for barley, wheat and oil seed rape and milking 200 odd cows for over twenty years he decided to look into diversifying onto bigger and better things. A now empty and unused milking parlour, seemed like the perfect place to begin with Barn-Store. Fitting the barn with shipping containers, CCTV, roller shutter doors and alarm system Barn-Store Fareham was soon up and running. However, before long it was clear we needed more space, all containers were rented out and more customers enquiring about storage, we needed to expand! So along came the Tadley franchise, followed shortly by Alton, Burton-on-Trent, Isle of Wight, Winchester, and soon to be Kent.

At Barn-Store we are all friendly family run business’s that aims to make your storage experience as simple and stress free as possible.

Martin Bazeley — Farmer turned Business Man

After successfully working Offwell Farm since a young age Martin decided farming was not going to be enough to keep his busy family going and his beer money constant. On the 22nd of August 2000 the first barrel of Suthwyk Ales was rolled down into the cellar of The Golden Lion in Southwick. Turning the barley grown on the farm into real ales, brewed by the Oakleaf Brewery in Gosport was the first big venture for Martin. By 2003, with the beer selling and sister, Jane, in the office to help with the orders, Martin set up Barn-Store, a family run self-storage business using shipping containers in the old milking parlour. Before long the containers were full and the franchisees were popping up across the South of England. As well as being an extremely busy entrepreneur Martin also manages to find time to cycle in the Band of Brother bike ride for Help for Heroes and has so far raised over £10 000 for the charity.
