But if vinyl is your preference, then it’s a great shop — good stock, well organised, plenty of friendly and helpful enthusiasm from behind the counter — only a lack of space lets it down, but otherwise just like good record shops used to be… highly recommended and worth sustaining. And with Guitar Village just up the road, and the excellent Plough pub, makes that end of Farnham a boho destination well worth visiting.

Before prices started to creep up I would often pop into 101 to browse the CD collection, but since I started to find similar stuff on Amazon at lower pricers for a new product my visits have been curtailed. They have a big choice of vinyl if that’s your preference, but displaying LPs for browsing has always been a problem and I’m too impatient to leaf through thousands of records in the hope of finding a gem. Maybe I’m getting old.
