King Fisher

Great local chippy in the Badcox area. Many locals still think of it as The Ancient Mariner fish & chip shop (the Ancient Mariner having been there for thirty years).
These days is a brightly lit, clean and generically decorated chippy run by a Chinese family, so it has the added benefit of an extensive Chinese take-​away menu as well.
Their chips are great — fresh, fluffy and properly cooked. The portions are good-​sized, and the fish is always fresh. A portion of chips and curry sauce with a pea fritter along with battered jumbo sausage and chips will come to under a tenner and be worth it! (Not that I’m saying that’s our regular order junk food of choice.but.have been known to indulge!)
On the Chinese side of things, their Prawn Curry is highly reccomended. It might lack the finesse and extra delicacy of a fancy restaurant curry but for a take-​out it’s really tasty and hits the spot.
Good value, good grub, friendly service.
