History

Established in 1948.

Taylor’s locksmiths was started in 1948 by John Taylor of Gateshead. John served his country in the 2^nd world war as a code breaker and lock specialist for the military.

Once John had left the army he set about selling safes to local businesses in Gateshead and Newcastle but found that as locks changed over time his service was invaluable.

John was the first locksmith in Gateshead and still to this day it is a family run business, ran by the Taylor family. We are a father, son and daughter business.

Today we are now a mobile locksmith business that covers, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland and Durham.

John always made his business with local people in the community count, he truly believed in a strong community that did a favour for a favour and we still do.

For Taylor’s locksmiths, it’s not all about the money, its about local business working with a local community, helping others when its needed, in an emergency in the middle of the night.

I am the 3^rd generation of Taylor’s to run our family business and i take a real pride in our family history and heritage.

We will do our utmost to make sure we meet your needs with a fast 24 hour response time, low costs by keeping our overheads low.

I have been working with my farther and Grand farther on locks since I was a child. I have over 20 years of lock picking experience.
