I love this shop and could stay in there all day smelling all the different bath bombs and bubble bars. I really enjoy a good bubble bath so I like getting the bubble bars. The face masks are good although they don’t last very long. Keeping them in the fridge helps though. I don’t particularly like having someone try to force a product on me but at the end of the day they’re just trying to let you know about something good and if you want them to clear off you just have to politely say so.

Lush has changed and not for the better IMO. One time, you could go in, browse around at all the lovely stuff and make no mistake it is lovely, and come out with armfuls of the stuff. This year I’ve never come out with armfuls of the stuff. Someone, somewhere has decided that the staff should pounce as soon as you set a foot in the shop. Oftentimes, they pounce as you approach the shop and hard sell you a product that you have no desire to buy and which they insist on wasting your time telling you about. I then want to get out of the shop ASAP, and do. Bravo, you just lost a sale of armful proportions I couldn’t tell you if they have new stuff cos I never get the chance to browse in peace. Bizarrely, when you DO get to the checkout, there is rarely anyone to serve you as the staff are so busy pressurising customers into buying. Evidently we waiting at the Till don’t matter as they’ve got our Sales. What a shame. A relaxed, touchy-feely business turned into a high pressured sales experience. I’ll be buying online from now on

The service at this lush is wonderful, if your not sure how much squiggy jelly to use in your bath or the best type of face mask for your type of skin just ask the staff. Lust is a great company who sell luxury bath and beauty products made with fresh ingrediants with the emphasis on being good to the enviroment and keeping the packaging as low as possible. They do very nice gift sets which has 10% discount vouchers in them or if there is not one that you want you can get one made up. They have some fantastic bubble bar slices which you run under the tap for a brilliant fixxy bath. They are constantly coming out with new products and sometimes release retro products that havent been made in a while but are well loved. The massage bars are wonderful and melt on your skin. The face creams give you lovely soft skin you can smell the shop before you get to it

You can always tell when you’re approaching a Lush shop because of the smell. It’s that sweet mixture of chocolate, vanilla and flowers that’s so distinctive, and strong. I know many people find the smell overpowering and don’t ever go into the shop for that reason but the products themselves aren’t indiviually highly fragranced. This Lush store, located in the Red Mall on the upper floor, is reasonably sized and well laid out with a good selection. The staff are friendly and full of boundless enthusiasm for the products, resembling nothing so much as enthusiastic funky puppies at times. Lush pride themselves on the absence of synthetics in their cosmetics range and their minimalist packaging. Prices are high but the quality is good and I’m particularly fond of the Karma range which is one of the few soaps that doesn’t cause dermatitis on my hands. They do a range of solid shampoos and deodorants for a range of skin types and hair types as well as some luxurious products like the famous bath bombs and bubble bars. People seem to either love Lush or hate Lush and feel the products are over-priced and over-hyped; I love them though a lot of the bath stuff is luxury items for self-indulgent pampering. Do ask the staff if you aren’t sure of what you want as they are unfailingly knowledgeable and very approachable. The Lush newspaper that they often offer you is great bathroom browsing, I find, and witty ;-) They accept MetroCentre gift vounchers here.
