One of the 2 things that springs to mind when someone mentions Prince Albert to me, is this bridge.
Linking Saltmarket in the City Centre, with Crown St in the Gorbals, Albert Bridge has been a solid fixture of Glaswegian life since construction in 1871.
I love having a wee walk over this bridge — apart from some great views of the River Clyde, you can see Glasgow Green, Coastguard station and the High Court.
For many years, car traffic was one way due to reconstructive works — but reopened both ways a few years back.
If you’re stuck in a traffic jam, this is a pretty good place to let your mind wander.
