Ballys Fruit & Veg

I stopped in here because I didn’t want a prepacked kilo of carrots from Lidl and when I’d passed by yesterday, they had the most amazing, and huge, red peppers on display — talk about eye catching!
They had a great selection of loose everyday fruit & veg, including what looked like incredible almost overripe juicy pears. I picked up my solitary carrot, red onion and a handful of mushrooms & chatted to the man on the till about everything being prepacked these days. He joked with me about it being in case people stole carrots, and proceeded to put my carrot in his pocket to demonstrate… note to self, wash carrot before eating!
A great wee place that reminded me of the type of shop my grandma used to favour, before the supermarkets took over with a vengeance.
