I have just realised I have never written a review for here and I have been having take away lunches from it for years! Firstly it is in the strangest location and not at all where you expect to find such a cool sandwich/deli shop. The main focus is their sub rolls. I can recommend all of them but my favourites are the Indonesian meatballs, salmon with mascarpone, roast beef and horse radish & chorizo with paprika mayo. You can also get a roll with soup deal and the soup is always hearty and filling. Also the soup is always veggie friendly. Another favourite if you want something warm is the Italian Sausage rolls. Which are ten times more flavoursome than normal ones. All ingredients are really fresh and seem to be of great quality. This place is really good, if you ain’t tried it yet. You need to soon!

Probably one of my fastest Unilocal review experiences, so this is going to be a brief one! Had an appointment out this way so made a detour here to get my lunch. Easy enough to find with the bright pink exterior! Wanted to just grab some food and go, there is seating here too but not heaps, so I expect it can be hard to get a seat at lunch. Had a look at the menu and couldn’t resist the salmon and mascarpone roll, only £3! The server was friendly and helpful, and my roll was made fresh while I waited in about 2 minutes flat. Off I went again, with a delicious roll in hand. I can’t say too much about it apart from the fact it was perfect, generous serving of salmon and was really tasty with the mascarpone. Just the right size for lunch, I was left full and content for the rest of the day. I can’t wait to go back to try some of their other delights — the Indonesian pot noodle sounds delicous!

Being stuck in Govan through the lunch hour, I needed somewhere to get something to eat afterwards. Something to eat that wasn’t takeaway grease… I was hardly in the mood. Fortunately, the well-reviewed Cherry & Heather ended up being a short walk both from my appointment and from Cessnock subway, and seeing as I’m not over that way much, I made plans to stop in. I wasn’t disappointed, either. For a start, it’s a lovely wee place, more a café than a deli, with a few seats and all sorts of nice smells within. The sandwich I had(chorizo and paprika mayo) was probably the best value for money that I’ve found of late in Glasgow. Under three quid for a good-sized premium fill sandwich on a tasty wheat roll? Yes please. And there were roasted red peppers in it to boot. While I didn’t have a coffee, the prices looked reasonable too, and the coffees others were having, as well as the soups, looked wonderful. All in all, the sort of thing Govan needs more of, and if I’m over again, I’ll definitely stop by.

I must thank Paige for reminding me through her review how close and just how good Cherry & Heather’s is. There I thought I was bound by Govan by the choice of eating establishments when Cherry & Heather’s is alas is a couple of stops away on the tube. Yay! Took me awhile to find it as it is slighty hidden down a side street but it was worth the hunt in the end. I was so impressed that I even took my mum there one day. I used to go frequently when I worked along at Paisley Road Toll, my company would always order from them when we had clients or directors up for down south. Those gourmet sandwiches were scoffed in no time. I was always partial to the Singapore noodles but I was drooling lots over serveral of their gourmet sandwiches. Yum! Not literally though. I just loved how their served them with a little hand drawn love heart on top of the wrapper incasing the sandwich. It always gave me a wee smile.

A five star without a hint of a shadow of a doubt. This place is utterly fantastic. Having stumbled on some reviews of this place, i felt compelled to Unilocal the hell out of it. So, when the belly began rumpling today, i jumped aboard the tube and fired down to an area i don;t often frequent… this may change. Having used the good old ‘monocle’ feature on the Unilocal app, i was able to find this place hidden just off the main road(i’d never have found it otherwise!). Inside it’s a cute wee deli filled with tasty deli like stuff; canned goods, teas, fancy coffees… you know, that kinda thing. The treat here however is the gourmet sandwiches and the price they come at. For £2.60 of your earth pounds i was able to purchase an amazing Indonesian Meatball Sandwich with Chill and Peanut sauce… excuse me while i make an assortment of noises. ooooooonuum nuuum om om om yum… sorry about that. Beyond the meaty goodness, they have a ton of other options, all looking well high on the ‘ooh, that looks tasty’ scale. Pros — Flippin tasty grub Cons — it’s not nearer… boo Verdict — get on the tube you lazy Unilocaler and hit this joint.

Cherry and Heather Fine Foods sounds much like a deli to me, but this place is awesome! It is a little café kind of close to Ibrox stadium with delicious ‘bespoke’ rolls with loads of different fillings for only £2.60. Not only this, if you are a vegetarian then you will be spoilt for choice with fillings like brie, spinach with caramilised onions or Oven roasted beetroot, lavender & honey goat cheese pâté sprinkled with omega mixed seeds. Fancy I know! Sounds delicious, I have only had the soup sadly which was great and only £4.50 with one of the top notch ingredient filling. Oh and I should mention all the soups are VEGAN! Interesting, but I love it! It is so great to find a place that caters to everyone. Having said that I didn’t see anything for the gluten frees, but hey, you never know till you ask. Maybe the casserole?
