These are the types of shops that Glasgow really lacks in, for me there are not enough of them if compared to Edinburgh where you have one on nearly every street.
Here you can pick up anything from a full kit for a traditional wedding to buying ex-​hire outfits for around £100, there are tartan scarves to Harris tweet handbags sold here.
In the past there have been several coffee shops based at the entrance but sadly never worked out.
There are sure bargains to be had here on ex-​hire items, I bought several pairs of thick socks for my wellingtons.

Ex-​Hire Kilts from here are an absolute steal! They grade them one to three in order of quality. So if your just picking up a kilt for heading to the rugby or going abroad with the boys then you can pick up a serious bargain here! And the damage will be minimal. They also sell full pakcages as well.
They have wee odd bits as every kiltmakers does such as hip flasks. I had to pick up a tartan tie for a Burns Supper this year so headed in here, got a lovely one but at near on £15 I thought it a bit pricey. Nevertheless service was top notch and I was happy with the product. Never hired from here but would have no problems about doing so, highly recommended.

Well, the shop then. Its big, full of kilts and traditional (did the highlanders really wear black suit jackets and bow ties) Scottish attire with the odd bit of tat for any tourists who happen to venture up this way. With a huge window display its pretty hard to miss this place, but unlike some other kilty type places, these guys do change their displays quite often and by the looks of things are quite keen on pushing more modern Scottish gear… is a plain back kilt still a kilt? Or is it just a man skirt? Will i be extradited for saying this? Screw it, bloke in a dress! Bloke in a dress. Bloke in a dress!!!
Aye, so as you would expect this place does a good trade in kilt hire, or if you’ve got the ridiculous amount of money required to actually buy all the gear, they’ll sell you one as well. Prices are pretty standard for hire and purchase alike, but this place appeals to me just ever so slightly over some of the other hire joints, purely i think because it looks the part. Not sure just how old it is but it has the ye olde look to it that appeals to the «Aye, she’s a good pig» within.
Did you hear about the Scottish Rolling Stones cover bands version of the classic hit «Hey you get off of my cloud»? «Hey McCloud Get off of my Ewe» sorry Scotland.

How Scottish can one place be?! Well, I suppose, it is a kilt maker. And also a kilt hire-​er. And basically anything related with tartan and/​or Scotland can be found here. Wait, it says that in the name. Sorry guys.
Anyway! Yes, this is a good place to find anything Scotland related — from tea towels, to keyrings, to kilt hire. All of their clothing items are of a high quality — I’ve never personally rented a kilt from here but my old flatmate did so and said it was possibly the best kilt he’d ever hired for £35 (everything included) — they do special discounts for students. Brilliant.
They’re a pretty famous weaver too as they’ve provided Continental Airlines with their corporate tartan, the uniforms for Edinburgh Castle and other such famous things.
High quality goods, good service and decent prices. Excellent.

The highest quality Kiltmakers you will ever find. All premium kilts are handmade, not machine made then hand finished, they do now carry machine made kilts in their lower ranges in order to meet the demand in that part of the market.
I dealt with the manager and was looking to buy a full outfit for special occasions. He was extremely helpful and aided me in selecting the right outfit. I chose the top of the range outfit as I wanted to make sure I got the best quality I could. They do have cheaper outfits and also rent kilts.
The other members of staff were brilliant and in the end the manager gave me a considerable discount. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality kilt and all the extras that go with it.
