Osiris

I love this place. It reminds me a lot of my favourite shop when I was younger, living in Norfolk ~ it was called Hocus Pocus & it was the only place in Kings Lynn (and the surrounding area) that sold ‘Alternative’ clothes/​jewellery, hair dye & incense sticks/​candles galore. Back in my crazy Hippy Goth (yes, it’s a thing!) days that place was my cuppa Joe.
Now I have Osiris. It has that same vibe as HP ~ it sells lots of cool clothes, jewellery, bags, tights, socks, shoes, make-​up, piercings, contact lenses, hair dye for those of us that like things a little out of the ordinary.
They sell some cracking dresses in here by makes such as Hell Bunny, Poizen Industries, H&R London & loads others and they’re actually priced pretty fairly when compared to the other, similar shops nearby. They also seem to always have a sale rail too which I have often picked up a great bargain from.
Two of the main reasons I shop in here though is number 1~ they sell loads of brilliant piercings for all varieties of holes (steady now…) and body bits. Some really lovely ones, although they can be overpriced a wee bit but for something I prefer to buy in person rather than online I think it’s worth paying a wee bit more.
The 2^nd reason I shop in here regularly is they sell my absolute favourite hair dye ~ Directions. They sell other brands too but I have know, used & LOVED Directions since I was 15 and it never lets me down (man). Also, yet again like the dresses, they price it very competitively compared to the other places around Glasgow that sell it. You always get a good variety of choice/​colours in here too.
Staff are fine; sometimes a bit moody but they’re always happy to help if you need it.
Great place for presents too if you know someone that likes this kinda thang. They sell splendid knee/​thigh high socks & tights in here in all varieties of colours & patterns. If you ever need a studded belt or corset or a studded corset ~ this is your place!
I really hope Osiris stays forever as I for one really would feel lost without this shop on our street. Viva la Osiris!

I genuinely adore Osiris. The jewellery is really good a fab selection, the cloths are brill I can’t find that style often. the price is quite good for the style and even better when it’s on sale which it often is. The bags are really cool and the store in general is well organised. The staff are really kind, helpful and are always up for a laugh, they deal with a lot of mucking about from my friend but are always really good. I love it!

I love Osiris!!! It’s a great shop if you want to find that something unique. It’s also the supplier of my favourite hair dye Directions and my knee high stripey socks that I cannot live without. I have been going to Osiris now for over 10 years and they’ve always kept to the unusual and interesting and have never let me down.
Last year I got some great Christmas presents for my friends and I’m sure I’ll be back again this year. I got some great accessories and earrings etc and my friends loved their presents. :)
I remember being trapped in Osiris one day as a fight broke out in the middle of Queen Street with one of the unders clubs across the road. The police were there and Osiris had to close their doors. I tell you though I wisnae complaining much that day although I might have spent a bit too much mind you. ;p

I always feel like Osiris is my other half, even though I’m too old to get any use out of most of their stock any more.
Skull and crossbones inspired, stripey socks, goth wear, hand cuffs, you name it, they’ve got it.
I suspect that some of their stock is used up towards halloween, but there are some really nice flower-​child type dresses in there.
I always take a trip downstairs to see what the latest styles are. I wish I could get away with the all-​black, to-​the-​floor, lace inspired queen of the night dress. But I can’t. But that doesn’t mean I can’t go in an visit it every now and then.
Probably not the best place to take your mum, but friends, deffo.

I always laugh as when this Osiris opened — I was their very first customer. As soon as the shiny new doors opened I was there looking to buy a new corset or a band t-​shirt and on their opening day they had 10% off everything.
Osiris is where I used to spend my pocket money when I was in my early teens. The stripey tights, black make-​up, glitter and crazy coloured hair dye were very appealing to me. I guess I wasn’t the only one as this Osiris used to be in a smaller shop on Queen Street which is still an Osiris but it just sells dreamcatchers and incense sticks and things. This bigger clothing one opened up by popular demand. I’ve since grown out of my «alternative» phase and dress a lot more girly now, not a lot of black at all so Osiris isn’t somewhere I frequent very often.
I still pop in here occasionally to have a look at their jewellery as they have a huge range of belly button bars which can be a lot nicer than getting them out of New Look or somewhere where they usually say «I Luv U» or something like that, which I really don’t want. In fact, they have a (w)hole range of piercings from plugs of all sizes to various sized bars and I usually get my tragus bars here too. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are always happy to help.

If you look beyond the band hoodies and neon tackiness as you enter, you’ll find a decent selection of makeup and accessories downstairs. Frequented by alternative youngster, Osiris is a longstanding Glasgow store that stocks a massive selection from beads and bangles, to corsets and cuffs.
I tend to head straight downstairs, where you’ll find a good selection of tights, as well as really good quality nail varnish and makeup.
A great place to go if you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.

Although I couldn’t be further from their expected customer (I seem to withdraw whenever I see neon), there is something I really like about Osiris. It’s quirky and unconventional and in amongst the more outlandish items of clothing are some unique little finds.
I probably wouldn’t wear about 75% of the stock but I can see why young teenagers might think this place fantastic and it is a treasure chest if looking for a present for such a person — you could pick up legwarmers, tights (I love the wall of tights!!!), necklaces or even UV paints. Worth a look!

Osiris is a bit of a Glasgow institution as far as the alternative scene is concerned. It’s one-​stop shopping for anyone with a penchant for colourful tights, fishnets, legwarmers, and everything neon. Clothing prices are moderate, and tend to be from a range of minor suppliers, so quality may vary.
The best part of the store is the accessories section downstairs. Everything from a wall of tights to a myriad of false eyelashes, UV paints, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. You can get loads of great finds for pretty cheap, the sort of thing Topshop sells for ridiculously marked-​up prices.
If you’re looking for something a bit fun or outlandish, Osiris is your best bet.

Osiris is the place where all the «unique people» go to buy their stuff.
Right by the door there is a selection of teeny weeny miniskirts in a variety of different designs and fabrics.
Downstairs there is the bondage section with rubber suits and handcuffs if that’s your thing. More tights than you can imagine line the wall, along with gloves, wigs and armwarmers. A selection of band badges is also displayed on the wall with reasonable prices. As the previous reviewer said, the false eyelashes are great, and I got a pretty outlandish pair for Hallowe’en last year.
Indeed, at Hallowe’en, their window display changes accordingly to display some of the outfits that could also double up as costumes.
Underneath the counter is a selection of body jewellery, mostly gothy stuff. I always find the sale section at the back of the shop good value

Osiris fashion is not for the fainthearted.
Whether you’re goth, emo, punk, lolita… anything ‘individual’ really, this place can cater to your every whim. Personally, I have shopped in Osiris for club noir outfits and neon/​uv body paint (waaaay!). I always find alternative shops to have moderate prices — Osiris is no exception to the rule.
To buy clothes may cost £30+, but smaller accessories, like bags, gloves, and make-​up are nice and cheap (esp. false eyelashes, why are they pricey everywhere else — they’re tiny bit’s of plastic, and I refuse to pay more than £5 for them!).
My favourite part of the shop? The wall of tights downstairs. Amazing!

I am sure a lot of passers by never think of going into this shop, but it has a really eclectic mix of stuff that you don’t often find just a short distance away from a busy shopping area. It is a haven for emos and goths in particular, but also has a lot of stuff that would be good if you wanted to stick out from the crowd at a party. It also has quite a lot of hippy type stuff. Staff are rather perfunctory, I guess they realise the stocks sells itself. If you have to buy a present for any young person, you are bound to find something to suit them hear, whatever their tastes.

This is my favourite alternative store in Glasgow. In my opinion it has the best range of clothing and accessories and the prices are much more reasonable than the others. They always have sale racks where you’re bound to find something you like for 5 – 10 quid. The staff are so-​so, not overly friendly and helpful but by no means rude.
Downstairs also has fancy dress and more going out clothes (think rubber, lolita inspired, goth etc). Upstairs is all the cute/​emo/​funky clothing.
I only wish they had better changing rooms! Especially upstairs which are simply curtains and make you feel a bit exposed to the world.
