One of the larger pubs on Duke Street, The Alexandra has a large circular bar surrounded by old leather seating areas.
Like all pubs around here, the drink is cheap, even though the Diet Coke comes in a can. The clientele is quite mixed, from lone old men, to a scary group of 20-​something local girls, all huge and mean and cackling. The T.V. screens play pop videos, while the actual music is a mix of old and new — Justin Timberlake was followed by The Eagles.
The bar staff, and the atmosphere in general, is quite nice though, and I think I would make it a regular stop on my route.
