Tasty breakfast and good, friendly service. Coffee was good and the smoothies were lovely. Great spot for a quick early bite in the West End.

Healthy breakfast choices! Great fresh smoothies! Well prepared food! The woman who seems to run the place is warm, lovely and attentive. They were bustling one morning when we went in and she still managed to keep the food coming and the service friendly. Also, VERY good lattes!

I was incredibly happy when I discovered this place does breakfast deliveries. Ordered bacon rolls and a full breakfast. Was rather quick to arrive and was still hot. The food tasted exactly as I expected. No complaints and would definitely do it again!

My friends, breakfast delivery is a beautiful concept.
You wake up on a Sunday morning, slightly hungover, with no desire to expend the effort required to dress yourself and brave the elements in order to secure a hot meal. But you’re hungry. You want breakfast. A real breakfast — not cold cereal or porridge.
Do not despair! The Hyndland Café is there for you.
During our weekend in Glasgow, my boyfriend and I found ourselves in the aforementioned situation and Hyndland Café saved the day. We called and placed our order and about 40 minutes later our food arrived, still hot.
We ordered the all day breakfast (bacon, link sausage, square sausage, potato scone, mushroom, tomato, baked beans, black pudding, and choice of egg served with toast), pancakes and maple syrup with bacon, and a haggis roll.
This morning feast was delivered to our door for only £10.50!
And yes, it was delicious.
Don’t hesitate lazy brunch fans! You won’t regret it.

If you’re after a quick greasy spoon style breakfast /​brunch, and you’re in the West End, then you can’t go wrong with a trip to The Hyndland Café. If I’d been writing this review a few months ago, it probably would’ve stretched to a 4 star review, but the past couple of times we’ve been in, I just feel like the service is slipping a little.
In their defence, they’re always pretty busy — especially on a Sunday when we normally trek down there. They have 3 booths, 2 small tables and some window seats (which aren’t the easiest to get in and out of) then some tables outdoors for when we have our — admittedly rare — bouts of decent weather.
On our last trip, we had to wait quite a long time to even get menus — and got ours after a table who came in after us did, not exactly ideal — and we were about to head somewhere else when we finally got to order some drinks and peruse the menu.
While Gordon went for their filled rolls, I thought I’d try the scrambled egg & smoked salmon bagel. It arrived pretty promptly, was a generous serving and tasted pretty good. No frills, just a decent amount of egg and some smoked salmon.
You get what you pay for, it’s a decent breakfast and for that I can’t really fault it.

First time I’ve been in since the refurb, what an improvement! A few simple interior decorating tricks (lowered the ceiling and hanging lamps to replace the wall mounted uplighters) and it seems to have gotten a lot bigger inside!
The food is the same fare. Hearty fry-​ups, great home baking and friendly smiles are standard. This is a local café that isn’t pretending to be anything else.
Always a queue for takeaways at the weekend (who doesn’t want a roll and bacon after a night on the town) the refurb is a good step forward.

Felt a review was necessary given the café’s just gone through a major overhaul — dropping the ceiling, giving the place a lick of paint and somehow (though I’ve no idea how) giving the place a bit more space in all directions. It looks much smarter now, and the grub is still good. I like the fact they take the time and money to invest in decent quality as well, with good bacon and home baking.

Two words… BREAKFAST DELIVERY!
This place is a dream for hungover, food-​less souls at the weekend. Had to call them as there were no menus online, they might be there now though. I opted for a portion of French toast with bacon and maple syrup which was absolute delicious. Bacon was slightly crisped, French toast was cooked perfectly, slightly crunchy crusts, soft in the middle. I’m not sold on the whole maple syrup thing so never ate a lot of that. There was a bit of maple syrup spillage by the time it got to us too, guess this happens sometimes with deliveries. Will just ask for no syrup next time. My boyfriend had eggs royale and it looked pretty amazing.
Delivered within half an hour, still hot and for around £10 (including delivery). You can’t go wrong with these guys!

Decided to visit here for brunch as I’d heard good reviews about it. We were lucky to get a seat as there are only 5 tables & a couple of window seats. The café is very busy so be prepared to wait as they have a lot of take away customers.
The menu is your standard breakfast & lunch fayre but there is a large variety — from cooked breakfasts, bagels, eggs, sandwiches, baked potatoes & french toast. We went for a toastie each — ham & cheese & chillie & cheese. We did have around a 15 min wait for food as the stream of take away customers didn’t die down.
The food was nice & I was pleasantly surprised by my chilli & cheese toastie — full of flavour & not too much cheese. The food served to other tables looked very good as well — eggs benedict, cooked breakfast & french toast with bacon & maple syrup.
Will definitely be back to sample some of their other brunch offerings!

This is a welcome pitstop on my daily trudge to work. When there just aren’t enough hours in the morning to sort out breakfast it’s good to know this place awaits with a range of hot filled rolls and coffee to kick-​start the morning. The only downside is it doesn’t open that early, so I’ve missed out a coupe of times and had to trick mr tum into thinking it’s had it’s am ration through chomping down on a cereal bar from the shop next door. Yet to sit in but looks the biz for a lazy Sunday morning retreat.

Pasta le café, a bizarre name now a thing of the past, decided to give this wee place a try wanting to try something new away from Byres road. A great little find, very relaxing, great friendly service and the staff were very accommodating in my request to individualise the all day breakfast, two eggs, no black pudding. The coffee was very good and overall the café was very good value. Can be quite busy on a Saturday morning and there can be a wait involved for a table but I expected this at this time of the week. Overall a lovely place that is great for the perfect breakfast hangover cure.

I must concur with fellow Unilocalers here. If the Hyndland Café stuck to what it’s good at, it would be a four star joint all the way.
Proprietors of an excellent fry up and greasy spoon grub, the set-​up is spot on and the atmosphere laid-​back and friendly, while free wifi is a nice (if an albeit essential, in this day in age) touch.
However, there seems little point in offering an extended main meal menu when the fare feels so watered down. BYOB is also not necessary. Futrthermore, as an aside to my main point, I must also voice disgruntlement at the early closing time. I know it’s par for the course for cafes to close before dinner time, but I reckon the easy going atmosphere in here would make it an ideal late night spot.
I like this place, and it’s good to see it try to progress. However, sometimes you can do a little too much tinkering.
Kept simple, the Hyndland Café really could be a cracking old school neighbourhood café.

This little café is a stone’s throw away from my flat in Hyndland and does a mean all day breakfast which cures even the worst hangover. I have quite literally staggered down to this place at three o’clock in the afternoon, in my pjs, wellies and a coat and practically sobbed for the waitress to bring me tea and breakfast before my hangover devours me completely! The best part of it was that the waitress didn’t bat an eyelid or appear to judge me in any way! Also the staff are happy to let you wile away a whole afternoon there with you only ordering refills on your tea. In fact they keep the place stocked with newspapers and magazines so you can do just that!
Admittedly all non-​breakfast type food that is available isn’t the best Hyndland has to offer. However if you stick with the usual café fair of toasties and the like you can’t go far wrong.

Previously Pasta Le Café (Not a mistype or joke. Who would ever name their establishment that?), this little café on Clarence Drive has had a make-​over and re-​opened in the past year as The Hyndland Café. The inside and outside décor has improved vastly, and is quite cute and unusual. The staff too are to be impressed by; friendly and quick, they’ve got service down to a tee.
Alas; As fondly as I feel for this local café of mine, I cannot lie. I have had a couple of the worst meals of my life here. The problem, I think, lies at the fact that they try to be something they are not. If they kept their business to continuing as a greasy spoon, with no frills or excuses, I’d be very happy; I’ve had a very nice hungover fry up here… However, they have widened their menu to include main meals and BYOB, and hopefully widen their clientelle– I suppose they imagined. But anyone who eats the vegetarian lasagne that I sampled here, I can guarantee you, will not be back. Ever.
The atmosphere & service are top notch, but a café is nothing without the food — as soon as they improve that, they’ll be on a winner.
