What a bizarre place. Trying to promote itself to an after work crowd but really wants to catch the young crew who will be heading downstairs to Bamboo later on. It has very enticing deals so some pals and I thought we’d try it for the 2 for 1 pizza, cheap cocktails and beer and the burgers. Italian murals on the restaurant wall — why? Maybe because it’s got pizza on the menu? We were moved from our table because it was meant to be taken and never was; after getting our drinks quickly we had to grab a waitress half an hour later to take our food order, who then returned 20min later to aks us again. When it eventually came my ‘chargrilled chicken’ in a japanese sauce was actually in deep fried batter, which is, in fact, how they’re all served. A friend got the cheese she specifially didn’t ask for. However, the pizzas were very impressive. Really big and tradionally made. I asked for my meal to be replaced with a pizza too but afer another 20 mins waiting and chewing on my friends’ I just cancelled it. I also had to remind the waitresses for my wine, which was much less important than a gossip and I felt sorry for the big table of women who all gave a cheer an hour after we were in when their main meals were presented, The couple next door got their meal free because the starter came after the main and when the chicken wings did eventually arrive they were raw. During our meal, the table next to us was commandeered by the young PRs with ants in their pants; standing up, sitting down; dancing. Strange behaviour in a restaurant. During the whole mental experience there was a guy standing at the bar looking like the owner. It must have been chaotic in the kitchen and there he was, fiddling while roam burned. Think this place needs to realise food isn’t the way to go. The staff aren’t geared up for it. Focus on the drinks and snacks for the young crowd. Gets a star for the great DJ and pizzas.
