We went on a a Groupon deal (£26 for a two course steak meal with wine, for two people) and have to say that the service from all staff present, was impeccable. Couldn’t do enough for us.
The wine was spot on (always love a good South African red) and the starter (homemade leek and potato with crusty bread) was delicious. My pal had the black pudding topped with poached egg and she couldn’t fault that either.
The 10oz sirloin steaks (topped with garlic
butter) came with a basket of fat steak chips… a big portion to say the least. Maybe I should have ordered my steak rare (like my pal) as the well done one had lost a fair bit of its flavour. Still, although we couldn’t really grumble at the price and size of the meal, I have had better (and less fatty) steaks.
Would I go back? Certainly. But I wouldn’t pay full price.
