I was staying at the Sheraton hotel just down the street and wanted to get some food so I walked over here. It’s not far but it is pretty deserted at night so it can be a little spooky of a walk. The food was ok. The naan was good. The chicken tikka masala was bad. The balti king prawns was a winner and saved this meal. I was hungry so I ordered both the chicken tikka masala and the balti king prawns. The waiter was nice enough to confirm that I really wanted to order all that food and I confirmed. It’s nice and quiet but the food was a bit hit and miss.

I would never go back to this place again. The people that work there are really weird. They act very nice but are really just trying to peddle their nasty food. We were bombarded with their cards and menus, like we’re supposed to be passing them out? Food: The Tikka Chicken was disgusting. It was overly sweet and had a funky taste. It was like chicken with tablespoons of sugar, in tomato sauce. My husband ordered some sort of mix with different types of grilled meats. His was okay, the tandoori chicken was good. This came with a salad and some sort of yellow yogurt that taste like sugar and lemon with mint(this sounds like it would be good, but they found a way to make it gross). We order take away and our salad came in what looked like cut up grocery bags. If we had ate at the restaurant I would have had them take the food back and gone some place else. This was so disappointing but it was our last night in London and we were looking for a nice dinner. Location: Close to the hotels and the restaurant looks nice. Service: They are fake nice. We ordered over 20 pounds worth of food and they tried to avoid giving us the drink that is supposed to come with our meal. The guy handing us our food tried to make it seem like he was going out of his way to give us cutlery, isn’t that supposed to come with the food anyways? Avoid this place! They couldn’t even do their Naan right, it was burned.

Appetizers were great, rest of the food was pretty good but not on par with something I would seek out. Convenient for business crowd around the airport. Staff was okay. They rushed us out and cleared the table before we had finished our drinks. I don’t know if this may have been becuase the resturaunt was pretty much empty(Staff may have been bored). Kind of on the spendy side. I would not recommend the garlic chicken. Maybe if it was made with thigh instead of dry chicken breast it may have been better. Meat platter was okay.

Food was good. The worst service I ever had in a restaurant by waiter named Joy. There was no joy in his service. Every other waiters were taking care of their customers and this guy was just watching everybody else. I had to ask another waiter for me to get a glass of wine or water.

Just happened upon this restaurant near Heathrow. While, overall, the food, service and value was good, I was not expecting thumbnail sized shrimp in my King Prawn Korma. Tasty, for sure, but either change the ingredient or change the name.

My experience at Kaniz was one I will never forget. Excellent food. Excellent service. One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. The waitstaff treated my party and I with such graciousness. It was as though it was a joy for them to serve us and they took pride in their work! The atmosphere was upscale yet homey. Due to it’s location, this restaurant does not get the praise or customers it deserves. If you are staying at the Sheraton for a layover or close to Heathrow, definitely check this restaurant out.

(June 2014) My 2nd tine visiting this restaurant. Excellent service, excellent food, and lovely atmosphere/décor. A standard for what Indian restaurants should be. My group ordered several dishes(butter chicken, chicken biryani, a sampler plate and several others) and the presentation, food, and service was just amazing! This restaurant is right next to the airport and is actually the only one around(besides a Chinese restaurant nearby), due to its location, I don’t think it sees a lot of business(what a shame!). Definitely one of my top 5 Indian restaurant experiences of all time.
