Now eaten in and taken away. Excellent food and very good value Wine and beer. Not just the usual Indian fare and the service and ambience were excellent. Prints and paintings from local artists available for sale on walls which also belies the fact that this is an Indian Restaurant. Established last year and in the old location as the excellent Morgans Brasserie(David Morgan) Not the standard bland sauces and curries but a refreshing new look. Three of us ate in last night and enjoyed the following: Duck tikka starter which was superb and also a Tandoori Chicken both very fresh and moist and excellent flavour. Mains were a Saffron Lamb Tikka Massala, Lamb Tikka Bhuna and a Lamb Tikka Rogan Josh. All three very different in taste, colour and spiciness and obviously cooked at the time. Side dish of Bhindi Baji was done as slices rather than pieces and looked and tasted superb, Sag Aloo also very good. Dishes we did not try included Chez Salmon(Pan fried with garlic onions and tomatoes in a saffron based sauce) and Panaheera beef(8 oz sirloin marinated withfresh hand pounded herbs and black pepper and thrn pan-fried and finished with a shallot and tomato based sauce) Very good value and a welcome addition to the restaurants in St. Davids — a new option for eating out.

This is probably the best restaurant I’ve been to in Wales. No, it just about really is that good. It’s small so book well in advance if you’re there during busy periods. I had a cocktail to start then scallops, bouillabaisse and finally the cheeseboard. The mussel, bass and bream bouillabaisse was chunky, robust and generously fishy; the 5 cheeses and each of the well-considered accompaniments made it the best cheeseboard I’ve had. The huge, spherical, hot crabcake my partner had probably had the edge over the scallops but only because it was so damn good. Perhaps the fish specials are just that — really special — but I’m told the meat options(duck and steak) were also pretty good. Service was really friendly and relaxed, the food is locally sourced and it just doesn’t feel too try-hard. Having been here and to Cwtsh*, the alternative up-market restaurant in St Davids, I’d choose Morgan’s any day.
