GDS specialises in computer maintenance and computer repair in hockley. We also design websites for UK businesses and promote them through local search engine optimisation (or SEO). We like to resolve computer issues by making it EASY for our customers to use our services and get the results they want.

History

Established in 2004.

As a former analytical chemist, with frequent interaction with computers and there being no onsite computer support, I had to develop my knowledge in the workings of the network, and the attached personal computers. As time passed, I found myself resolving computer and network issues for other staff onsite. Some staff took to bringing in their home computers for repairs and upgrades.

Green Dragon Solutions was started, to represent my work with computers for clients and to establish a tax point for the extra income.

Over time I took courses on operating systems, networking and business studies.

Though I feel that first hand experience, beats any qualification in my opinion.

My range of services continue to expand and I have now developed my web development and search engine optimisation skills to offer new and existing clients.

The web design and seo work is the domain of my second company, Websites Created, which was started in 2010.

Like many people, what you start out doing evolves.

My interests lay initially in chemistry, which over time became more and more computer-​based. Samples were prepared and analysis was controlled by computer based systems.

These systems were independent. So linking them or at least getting the information in form so that keyboard entry was minimised was going to be useful. Working on this was interesting and some success was achieved, though the company opted for an outsourced product to do the task. This required a change of focus from developing the means to get data input, to an understanding of networks and how they worked.

System issues arose whilst using this network and sometimes it was individual pcs other times it was network problems (at this point the company denied access to internet on the network, though stand alone pcs were connected).

Eventually I wanted to develop my skills as a computer tech. I left the company and eventually setup Green Dragon Solutions
