Having to get breakfast from the airport? unless you pay to use one the lounges depending who you are flying with, this place was very busy even at 6am, nice décor here with plenty of tables to seat people and even catch a plane taking off from the nice view. Only thing that put me off about this place was that when my Coffee arrived it was luke warm and when it got changed the person bringing the replacement went to the wrong table 2 times! The food was average and plates were also luke warm. Prices are also average for airport lounges but I wished I’d paid the extra to use the private lounges now! One plus point about this restaurant is that by every table there’s a USB plug for you to get last minute charging of your phone and tablets, this is great as so many people have to rely on their devices battery power or even have to carry extra portable power supplies.

Flying out from Gatwick is an unusual choice for me as I live less than ten minutes bus ride from Heathrow, but I’d let myself get swayed by a cheaper flight to Reykjavik from there. Arriving to the terminal by train, it hadn’t taken long to get through security and passport control, so I had plenty of time for a pre-flight brunch. The Wetherspoons was extremely full, so I headed for the less filled Wondertree instead, beckoned by the large windows looking out onto the runways. I was warmly greeted and swiftly escorted to a table near the windows — even on a damp and grey day, it was good to have that vista. My order was quickly taken and delivered in super-fast time — probably less than five or six minutes from order to table. It was a healthy scrambled eggs dish with accompanying bangers and cooked tomatoes on focaccia bread and it was a generous serving, so much so that a fair part of it remained on the plate. The service was excellent — swift, understated and efficient and the food was good value too. If ever I fly from Gatwick again, then it would be my first choice for a pre-flight meal.

I was so glad to read Rachel M’s review because it pretty much echoes our experience there! We were at Gatwick’s South Terminal on a Sunday lunchtime prior to flying out to Spain. We only eat vegetarian when we’re away from home and all too frequently veggie options can be a little hit and miss, it’s not unusual to expect a dreary veggie burger or unappetising bean concoction! However my husband spotted the WonderTree in the distance, from where we were sitting, and suggested we go and have a look at the menu. The fact that they actually had a veggie burger that sounded like it would be good to eat was enough incentive to decide to eat there. Our waiter was very friendly. What I liked was that, when he asked us how we were today and we chatted with him, he was genuinely interested and didn’t seem to be just following instructions to make ‘polite conversation’. So my husband and I decided to both have the Dukkah Veggie Burger, he chose a Flower Berry smoothie whilst I asked for a Good Morning Wake Up. Let me tell you that the Dukkah Veggie Burger was absolutely delicious and above even our initial expectations! OK so what is the Dukkah Burger? I’d never heard the name before, it implies nothing, so you have to read the menu which tells you that it’s a «crushed-nut coated, spiced yellow pea & shredded veggie patty with tzatziki, rocket, roasted red pepper, grilled halloumi, vine tomatoes, hummus & harissa, sesame & poppy seed glazed bun.» I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant!

Feeling compelled to write this review as I sit in the restaurant digesting my delicious lunch. I had zero expectations for the meal at Gatwick — I would’ve made other arrangements so I wouldn’t have been stuck with shitty options like what you find in most airports. But walking up to the host stand and reading the menu, my husband and I were intrigued. I loved that we were sat by the window wall. It had an crazy cool view of planes landing and taking off. Chairs are comfy and there’s enough room for your hand luggage around you. I go the mini mezze plate and the salmon bruschetta, and he chose the schnitzel. Wow! I loved the mezze plate so much and the kale salad atop the bruschetta was AMAZING. Ernie very much enjoyed his schnitzel and I loved the bite I took. Our server was also super cool and friendly, and he loved it when we told him it was the best airport food we’d ever had. If you’ve got time to kill at Gatwick definitely check this place out!

Well I was gonna give this place 3 stars due to the hostess seating me behind a damn pillar it was no wonder why the waiter took so long to get me anything or serve me period they never saw me only reason I was served was because waitress saw me when she was clearing the table next to me. But after I was finally noticed things went a lot better service was good and food arrived rather quickly. I ordered the Mexican breakfast which on my part was my mistake as I just moved from San Diego and comparing Mexican food from over 5000 mi away in another country is just not fair lol so it was alright if I didn’t think of it as a Mexican dish. Now I came back through on my return to Italy and wanted to try the fish and chips but apparently they must be good because they were out lol so I ordered the sunny side burger and a belgiam shake. My return trip was a lot better burger was perfect egg cooked exactly how I love and shake is excellent. Service was much better since I was sitting in the open and not hiding haha. Quick, easy, and delicious.

Every so slightly hungover and infinitely tired I wander in, desperate for something to make me feel human. coffee. bacon, a small miracle… anything to get me sorted before getting on the plane. The waitress looks, sees a short fat balding man who clearly has been away from his wife and any other civilising influences for about 24 hours. She takes pity and gets me to a table where vast amounts of coffee and bacon on toast magically arrive. it is good, damn good. I pay my bill, crawl to the plane and sleep.

I ordered a latte and their croque breakfast. Both were delicious and far exceeded my limited expectations given that we were in an airport. My wife ordered their basic English breakfast and she really liked it too. The staff were friendly and prompt. It has a nice view of the planes moving about. I couldn’t imagine a better airport breakfast spot.
