We went on a quiet night. The staff were miserable. The food was poor and outrageously overpriced. The chef couldn’t even be bothered to stay for our desert order leaving the waitress unable to tell us what was in the deserts or what cheese came with the cheese board. By far the worst restaurant I’ve eaten in and one of the most expensive.

Grossly overpriced average pub grub. We booked a table and they lost the booking, because they were busysorry. Ended up stuck against a wall at tiny table, after waiting ages and listening to nouveau riche wannabe ponces polluting the atmosphere with their empty chatter. Service was of the couldn’t care less standard, slow and decidedly unfriendly. The food was overcooked, we barely ate any of it. Ridiculously expensive average wines. The best part of the experience was when we left vowing never to return. Our local Chinese takeaway produces better quality food. What phrase describes this place? Rip off!

Overpriced magnet for Yorkshire ten-penny millionaires too lazy to travel. £18 for penne and tomato sauce?! Claridges in Mayfair is cheaper — this place is a gastro pub not a restaurant — yet charges above restaurant prices for average food.

Great food & quite an extensive menu. It’s not cheap, but if you want some really well-made interesting food, which still manages to be wholesome, it’s definitely worth it. A bit out of the way, but once you’re there its such a nice cosy atmosphere that’s not such a worry!

5 Stars for the restaurant, 3 stars for the rooms We stayed here to go walking and have a bit of a break. This place is kept immaculately and has lovely views. On first arriving and being shown to our room, it was lovely. The room was very well decorated and modern, fresh and clean and there were extra touched such as fruit in the room and bottled water(free). The restaurant has a daring but extremely well executed menu, it’s procey for the area but very very good. It was great to relax over the meal with the knowledge that we could stay there and drink ourselves under the table without worrying about getting home. Everything was let down however by our nights sleep. The walls are extremely thin and it is situatred on a very busy road — so we were repeatedly woken up by large lorries going past. Not only this, but embarrassingly we were disturbed by the over amorous owners getting up to giggly shreiking antics in the bedroom next door in the early hours of the morning. Definately go for the food — but don’t stay in the rooms!
